The Director has a group of individuals with him who we do not know and we are told what the facility is like that makes these Alphas, Betas, Gammas, Deltas, and Epsilons. During the walkthrough of the facility we meet Mr. Foster who is works at the facility and is an Alpha. Then we meet Lenina who is one of the nurses, an Alpha, and she is with Henry (Mr.Foster). This rising action of the book takes us into a different part of society which is away from the perfect society. Plus Lenina is finally able to have a chance to be with Bernard alone while on this trip. Bernard and Lenina are disgusted by this and refuse to think of it. A little while after this event they meet a boy John. John starts to explain that he should have been the one to be whipped so that he could show his courageousness and toughness. Then we meet Linda who is John's mother. Linda explains to Lenina and Bernard that while on a trip to this preservation she was badly injured and left at the preservation. Although she does not tell them who she was with Bernard assumes it's the Director because when asking permission to go the Director tells Bernard that he went there with a woman a while ago. Then John tells his side of how his mother slept with a lot of men on the preservation and that he was isolated throughout childhood. When Bernard shows up to the facility the Director gives his speech to Bernard and that he is fired and going to Iceland. But Bernard brought John and Linda with him which shocks the Director since Linda is the girl he brought to the preservationa and John is the Director's kid. John sprints to his father yelling "Oh Father!" Bernard is not seen as an odd person in the society anymore. Bernard's fame rises because John and everyone is obsessed with John because of his life on the Preservation. Then Lenina falls very hard for John because she loves his odd behavior which is ironic because she was worried about Bernard's behavior but she loved him for who he was. From all of this recognition Bernard and John are hits in the society and Bernard starts to act like a normal being in the society. Bernard takes part in having sex with multiple women and having parties.
