- Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, ˹genuine˺ prayer should deter ˹one˺ from indecency and wickedness. The remembrance of Allah is ˹an˺ even greater ˹deterrent˺. And Allah ˹fully˺ knows what you ˹all˺ do.
- From this verse, we learned that Allah has establish prayer for all Muslims. This is because Allah knows that prayer is the one that can remove us from evil and indulge us in goodness. Therefore, no matter how much we have sinned in this life and no matter how much we have displeased Allah, the five daily prayers are the ones that put us back on track in the path of Allah. 

2. Al Baqarah 183
- O believers! Fasting is prescribed for you—as it was for those before you1—so perhaps you will become mindful ˹of Allah˺.
- One of the five pillars of Islam is fasting. From this verse we can understand that Allah has made it compulsory for us to fast on Ramadhan. Allah knows best and He is the best of planners because He knows that fasting can peevent us from doing evil and it allows us to appreciate the things that has been gifted to us.

3. At Tawbah 103
- Take from their wealth ˹O Prophet˺ charity to purify and bless them, and pray for them—surely your prayer is a source of comfort for them. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
- We understand that zakah is a compulsory deed in Islam. Zakah usually is performed during Ramadhan and before Eidul Fitr. Many question why Zakah is important. One of the reasons is to purify our wealth. From the verse, Allah says that charity purifies our wealth from evil. Evil in wealth can come from many sources such as Riba, Stealing and etc. Therefore, Allah knows best and He made it compulsory for us to perform Zakah to prevent us from evil. 

4. Al Baqarah 197
- Ḥajj is [during] well-known months,1 so whoever has made ḥajj obligatory upon himself therein [by entering the state of iḥrām], there is [to be for him] no sexual relations and no disobedience and no disputing during ḥajj. And whatever good you do - Allāh knows it. And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of Allāh. And fear Me, O you of understanding.
- We as Muslims understand that Hajj is compulsory for every muslim that are capable. Allah does not burden a sould beyond than it can bear. That is why Allah only made it compuslory for those who can afford as we know that Hajj is not cheap during this times. Hajj allows us to be very very close to Allah and Hajj allows us to visit the scared land which is Land of Haram located in Saudi Arabia. 2. Achieving success in this world and the hereafter
Allah says, “Successful indeed are the believers, who are humble in their ṣalāh” (23:1-2).

3. Becoming sin-free like a newborn
Amr b. ʿAbasah (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhu) narrated a long ḥadīth in which he described the virtues of wuḍū’. He reported the Prophet ﷺ saying, “And if he stands to pray and praises Allah, extols Him and glorifies Him with what He is most deserving of; and shows wholehearted devotion to Allah, he will revert to being sinfree (as pure) as he was on the day his mother gave birth to him.”

4. Having previous sins forgiven
ʿUthmān (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhu) performed wuḍū’ and then said, “I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform wuḍū’ like this and he then said, ‘Whoever performs wuḍū’ like this wuḍū’ of mine, then performs two rakʿah of prayer during which he does not let his thoughts wander, Allah will forgive all of his previous sins’” (Bukhārī).

What is zakah? 
Zakat (zakaat, zakah), or almsgiving, is one of the five pillars of Islam. This means that Zakat is mandatory for Muslims, along with the other four sacred pillars of prayer (salah), fasting (sawm), pilgrimage (Hajj) and belief in Allah and His Messenger, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) (shahadah). For every sane, adult Muslim who owns wealth over a certain amount – known as the Nisab – he or she must pay 2.5% of that wealth as Zakat.

2. Hikmah
- To complete and perfect a person’s Islam, because it is one of the pillars of Islam. If a person fulfils it, his Islam is complete. Undoubtedly this is an important aim for every Muslim, and every believing Muslim will strive to perfect his faith. 

- It is indicative of a person’s sincerity of faith, because wealth is dear to people, and something that is loved will not be given up except for something that is equally or more loved, or rather for something that is more loved. Hence it is called sadaqah, because it is indicative of the sincerity (sidq) of a person’s desire to please Allah, may He be exalted. 

- It cleanses the character of the one who gives it, so that he is saved from being a miser and is included among the generous, because if he accustoms himself to giving, whether it is giving knowledge or giving wealth or using his position to help others, that giving will become a characteristic for him and will be part of his nature, until he gets upset if there is a day when he does not give. Like the hunter who gets used to hunting, if one day he does not hunt, you will find him feeling anxious. Similarly the one who has gotten used to being generous will feel anxious if he does not give some of his wealth or use his position to help others one day.

Hajj is the annual Muslim pilgrimage that is considered one of the five pillars of Islam. The rites performed during this journey were established by Prophet Muhammad. However, based on the Quran, these rituals can be traced back to Prophet Ibrahim, who was asked to leave his wife and son in the desert of Mecca. According to Islamic beliefs, performing these rites with faith in Allah represents submission to god and earns merit.

2. What is umrah
Umrah is the Islamic pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca that can be performed at any time of the year. Muslims call it the ‘minor pilgrimage’ that cleanses a pilgrim and frees him/her from the wrongs and sins of his/her past. Performing Umrah is highly recommended in the Islamic religion as it is an act of worshipping and acknowledging the most gracious Allah.

3. Difference 
- In Islam, both Umrah and Hajj are supposed to offer pilgrims forgiveness and extra merits. However, according to the religion, the level of importance of both these journeys is different. Hajj is considered an obligatory pilgrimage that every Muslim must undertake at least once in his/her lifetime, given he/she is physically and financially capable of making the journey, however performing Umrah is not compulsory. Umrah is highly recommended but not mandatory, unlike the major pilgrimage of Hajj. This sets Umrah and Hajj different from each other.

- Another difference between Hajj and Umrah is the time when one should go on these pilgrimages. Muslims undertake the journey of Hajj during the month of Dhu al Hijjah, the last month of the lunar calendar. The rites of Hajj are to be performed between the 8th and 12th day of this month. Whereas Umrah can be performed during any time of the year.

- For Umrah, the obligatory acts include assuming the state of Ihram after declaring the intention of Umrah, performing Tawaf, carrying out Sayi between the hills of Safa and Marwa, and lastly, shaving of the head or clipping a portion of hair. Whereas, when performing Hajj, one needs to assume Ihram from Meeqat, stand on Arafah until sunset, spend the night at Muzdalifah, pass the night in Mina during Tashreeq, stone the Jamarat, shave the hair, and lastly, perform farewell circumambulation. Notably, both the pilgrimages are considered complete only after performing all these obligatory acts.
