The landscape I chose is Mohale Dam in Lesotho. This place has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My dad has worked there for almost all of my life, and visiting him during school holidays became a cherished tradition. It is more than just a site but rather it feels like a second home. Waking up to the view of the dam and the surrounding mountains and view of the dam is breathtaking, calming and humbling all at once. It’s a landscape that connects me to my family, my memories, and gives me a sense of belonging.

Returning to Tsitsikamma always reminded me of the rhythm of travel, family togetherness, and the simple joy of being surrounded by beauty that feels deeply African, rooted in belonging and memory.

Kruger National Park is a true African gem, it consists of wildlife and scenic landscapes that leave visitors fascinated by the outdoors. As one of Africa's largest game reserves, it's home to the big five which is the lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and cape buffalo and also other variety of animals that roam the savannas and grasslands. The parks rivers and diverse landscapes offer breathtaking views. Especially when you are on a sunrise drive or exploring the park's trails. Within the field of landscape architecture, Kruger National Park serves as an incredible source of inspiration, showcasing the natural elements. The park's design and management strategies,also prioritizing conservation and sustainability, demonstrate the importance of thoughtful planning in preserving Africa's natural beauty and wildlife. It has a rich cultural heritage and commitment to conservation. It is definitely one of my favorites and a must visit destination for anyone passionate about landscape architecture and the natural outdoors and a lover for your wildlife.
