As a society in this day in age we are expected to look, act and believe a certain way. Without people even noticing, society puts out the standards and forces us to abide by those rules.

¨Huckleberry Finn¨ is a great example of this. Society has taught people that if you aren´t white then you aren´t a normal human and in order to succeed you have to act and live in luxury. If you weren´t white and rich then you weren´t accepted.

In the beginning Huck runs away because he is tired of the abuse from his father but also what society is expecting from him. He escapes and can now be himself without worrying about school and always sitting up straight and talking proper.

Huck was full of guilt a lot of the time. He felt sorry for always putting Jim down and thinking he was superior. After a while of traveling and having to stick with Jim, Huck realizes that he really is just a human being. Huck feels a strong connection with Jim once he sets aside the fact that he has different colored skin. Huck realizes that Jim is like a brother to him and they always will have each others backs.
