What I learnt from this Ted talk?
Smartness(conventional) is a relative term, grits translates to high emotional intelligence and the ability to survive failure comes to perserverance. Lifes challenges can build emotional intelligence,however as educators we cannot perceive that old methodologies would cultivate E.I but the in the current time the planting of the seed that would spur on emotional growth in terms of E.I.
Grit is the determining factor for success. Grit will help me and my students to keep on being motivated and continue learning. Is not enough to have passion without being motivated to keep on persevering.  Learning from our mistakes and understanding that failure is not something that keep you from moving forward or from keep on learning. Learning to be responsible take action but also not be so strict with ourselves.
As a teacher it is important to understand, have compassion , guide and motivate students for a better learning.
