I have developed confidence in the tune because I have been practicing. I have learnt the tune and made sure tuning across the whole song is correct. I have explored different volume dynamics to see which one works best and I have found that "pride in my heart" is a light-hearted phrase that's internal to the character whereas "yes I do" is a very strong and powerful lyric said to the rest of the cast to bring about unity.

Maybell is a sassy and confident black performer who in the musical fights in the face of the Civil Rights Movements which is when she sings the powerful anthem, "I Know Where I've Been." I will be using her confidence whilst performing as she is not shy to tell others how she feels and stand up for rights and equality, through a bold strong composure, standing tall.

I have used breathing to project the lyrics "there's a road" and "I know" as they have a dragged out melody whilst using a American accent that I have studied and practice to ensure that I sound like the character I'm portraying.

What has been going well is my tone with my voice making sure my character feeling is shown in my voice through vocal embellishments such as sob voice.

I got feedback from a one of my peers who told me I should work more on projecting my voice so people can hear what I am singing.

My plan for my next rehearsal is to project my voice as forward so I can be understood. So I will research into exercises to do this. I will also be focusing on my performance and acting skills making sure I'm standing up tall and have pride within my facial expressions. 

I will show my stylistic features within my contemporary musical genre while showing a sense of strength and power as it is about fighting for equal rights.

The skills I will use to ensure my performance goes well will be projecting my voice clearly to help the audience relate to the song more and understand the power behind it.

I will focus on my confidence to move around in my staging and practice diction so its clear.

My process with this song has been going well, I have starting learning the tune, however feel I need to be more confident with it so I can apply technique. I have been singing and doing exercises such as breathing exercises and diction exercises.

I struggled to sing "to tomorrow" so I used the box technique to make sure my placement was right and pushed the sound forwards.

I've developed on my confidence and being braver about my singing not looking down when I'm singing and making sure I'm looking at the audience so they can connect with my character.

My final rehearsal went well I did everything I have practiced over this process. I think for final improvements I can improve on my breathing: I’ll do this with breathing exercises and diagram exercises all before my final performance.

I was conscious of my tone and would’ve liked for it to be smoother in moments when she is having self-reflective thoughts before pushing it out. As tone is such an important aspect of any performance, as it helps convey the emotions and messages behind the lyrics, in my case adding vocal embellishments to my tone was important to the song as my song was related to racial equalities, therefore putting a powerful tone into my voice and lyrics was required to make sure the audience feel the emotion and meaning behind the words, especially as it's related to something that still happens in today's society. 

I was working on my breathing exercises to help with projection before my performance, however managing my breathing during the performance is definitely something that can be improved upon, and I will practice on for future performances.

I feel my rehearsals were productive as I developed my vocal skills and became more confident in my riffs especially at the end of the song. In some respects, I was more confident in the rehearsals than the actual performance. However, when it comes to the rehearsal process, there's always room for improvement. If I were to do it all again, I would focus on time management, making sure to allocate enough time for each aspect of the performance so each skill is equal in strength.

I incorporated acting into my singing to bring a depth and emotion to my performance mostly through my facial expressions, however, could develop this further by having confidence in my body language and physicality.

Overall, I think my performance was successful. I know the areas I can improve in so I will continue to grow and build a stronger and confident mindset as I’m eager to improve for the future. I will keep practicing my breathing exercises and keep pushing myself.
