Hi there! Welcome to my Pad. Here you will find some of my artworks I created and even some of the poems I have written. I just want to make sure I warn you: some of these pieces of mine might be too emotionally explicit to sensitives like empaths. My art focuses on building a lasting empathetic connection with the viewer, and can sometimes be difficult to look at. I can also assure you that, although some iconological elements are borrowed from it, religion and politics are not my focus.

For this artwork, titled 'The Dynamics in Creation' it is clear that Franz Kline was a big inspiration. The artwork was created using normal PVA housepaints and created using the same technique of Kline of painting black, then white, then black and then white on top of each layer. This means that the brushstrokes could clearly be seen and thus the action behind it.
Creating this piece was not so much about having a subject realistically depicted. it was about the event, or, the dynamics behind the act of creation, especially that of an expressive artist.
I was also inspired by Willem de Kooning for his primitive way of expression which adds to my inspiration of pre-historic art. This can be see in the simplicity of an implied figure in the center.
My limitations was solely the size of the available canvas. Reflecting, it could be possible for me to overcome this obstacle by buying a bigger canvas.

I chose to not make a very colourful artwork like the rest of the class, because i am extremely interested in how Kline could express the same emotions that Rothko did without the use of colour but with line and form. I tried to experiment with these as to better myself because I believe line is very important in art.

In my artwork I attempted to convey a feeling of a movement, strength and freedom. Although the lines in the center look clustered the implied figure in the center has its limbs in different directions leading the eye to believe the figure can move at any moment. Ultimately, this painting is dynamic but also holds the memory of an event that took place, an event that scared the canvas with hard slashes of pigment.

I feel like my artwork is successful in what I set out to achieve and that i learnt a lot about the insinuating power of lines and the directions and thickness of them.
