On the eve of St. Nicholas Day, a holiday took place in our school! On which we were greeted and given sweets.We watched a play shown by the students of our school. After classes in the House of Culture of our town a festive performance for St. Nicholas Day was also held. I also took part in it,  I was a presenter and an Angel. The notion is  that goodness defeats evil! It was a wonderful day! Congratulations to all on St. Nicholas Day! I wish everyone peace and goodness!

Hi there,
I'd like to tell you about the New Year celebration at our school. It has become a tradition that the 4th graders celebrate this holiday in a national style. They are called Vechornytsi in our country. We sing folk songs, dance national dances and there are theatrical performances and divination. Guys bite Kalyta, it's like sweet bread. In general, Kalyta was once bitten on December 14, on St. Andrew's Day, and the boys were anointed with soot. And we made dumplings, this is our national dish, which we tasted then. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the New Year party very much!

On the eve of Christmas, Ukrainians are preparing for the holiday. My family also followed the traditions. Mom baked cakes, this is a special buttery bread that is baked only before Christmas. And my dad brought Santa's house, a sheaf of wheat with herbs or other dried flowers. It prepresents those who are no longer with us, our ancestors. It used to be in every house. We have recreated this ancient tradition in our family. It was done with respect to those who had lived long ago . Another feature is the 12 fasting dishes on the table, which also matter. We keep the  traditions with great honour.
