Concentric Circles

For the concentric circles design I decided to go for symbols instead of arbitrary shapes. The exclamation point, question mark, exclamation point is meant to represent surprise in the simplest way possible. To actually use the concentric circle designs I made lines going down the length of the exclamation points and a sort of burst coming from the question mark. The color scheme I chose is mainly due to my love for darker earthy tones, usually i would've incorporated some dark green or something similar but here I decided to stick to the more sepia tone resembling color format.

My first portrait was, firstly, made right before I got a haircut, which obviously made a large difference from the finalized product. It's also worth noting that the original images were taken on a lackluster laptop camera. Whereas the much better finished products were taken with not only a better camera but also better composition in general. The main idea of this project was obviously to see how well we could incorporate the new column method of drawing to create our pieces, I found it was hard to mess up just as long as I didn't think of it as a face I was drawing but more of an isolated value that should lead into those around it.

This sculpture proved itself annoying as all get-out. Between the shoddy quick dry "clay" and it just being difficult to come up with imaginative ideas that hadn't been done 40+ times over I can say without a doubt that this was my least favorite of the projects creation wise. I decided on a purple and blue color scheme due solely on the fact that I just enjoy the colors. Though the orange bits were a last minute addition, I think they work pretty well by complimenting the purple.
