-Causes: The Berlin wall came down after a spokesperson for the East side of Germany stated publicly announced that East Germany had a change of mind in their separation from West Germany. They were through with being divided and wanted the wall to come down. At midnight after this speech, he announced that people would be free to cross sides and not face consequences. The wall was then taken down.
-Who was Involved? West Berlin (allied powers) and East Berlin (iron curtain)
-Significant Features: The biggest impact of the wall coming down was that it reunited family and friends. It also unified Berlin and made it so that the government could collaborate and try to take ideas of both Communism and Capitalism and rule the city under one clear power without outside influence from other countries and powers.
-Was it a NATO/Warsaw Pact Issue? Yes.
-Connected to Containment Theory? Yes because the wall had originally been put up to separate communism and capitalism and the wall coming down symbolized how the two government systems were going to work together.
-Victory for Capitalism or Communism? A victory for both. Both sides had people who had been separated from their families and people who had been living alone due to the wall and the side made it so that people could go back to their lives.

-Causes: The French wanted to fight off Chinese Communism in Vietnam and the United States ended up joining to help the French. The US army involved in assassinating the South Vietnamese leader Diem. The United States would then eventually commit 500,00 troops to South Vietnam. The war would be fought by full scale bombings.
-Who was Involved? The United States and France against Vietnam and China. The US and France fought against communism.
-Significant Features: The biggest feature of this war was the bombings such as on February 1965, Johnson launched full scale bombings on North Vietnam after the "Attack of Tonkin". Also a key feature of this war is that an official declaration of war was never signed so technically it is not considered a real war.
-Was it a NATO/Warsaw Pact Issue? No.
-Connected to Containment Theory? Somewhat. Although the war wasn't fought to keep communism out of America, it was fought by Americans to keep communism out of Vietnam.
-Victory for Capitalism or Communism? Communists were victorious in this battle and in 1973 the American troops were forced to withdraw. On April 30 of 1975 the North Vietnamese troops were able to capture Saigon and unite the country under communist rule.

-Causes: The revolution was caused by the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista over Cuba and his brutal suppression that let to immerse poverty throughout the country.
-Who was Involved? The United States, Fulgencio Batista and Fidel Castro. Fulgencio had allowed for the US to control and exploit Cuba.
-Significant Features: The struggle of power between native Cuban people and the influence of American culture coming into the country.
-Was it a NATO/Warsaw Pact Issue? No.
-Connected to Containment Theory? No because the Americans weren't involved because they were afraid of communism, they were involved because they wanted to have power over Cuba and its exports.
-Victory for Capitalism or Communism? Wasn't a victory for either side because it was a revolt and not a battle. Both sides were trying to establish power in the Cuban government and throughout the Cuban society.

-Causes: After WWII, Korea was no longer controlled by Japan which led to the discussion/fight of who would get to control them. Eventually the US and the Soviet governments would split Korea making the North a communist area and the South a democratic society.
-Who was Involved? The United States and The Soviet Union (US fighting for complete democracy throughout Korea, Soviet's fighting for complete Communism throughout Korea).
-Significant Features: On June 25 of 1950, Stalin gave permission for the North Korean military to attack South Korea. This grew the tension between the two sides and created the rivalry between them. The division of Korea still remains today.
-Was it a NATO/Warsaw Pact Issue? Yes.
-Connected to Containment Theory? Somewhat because the United States fought and still fights today to keep communism out of South Korea. Shows how US wants to spread democracy and denounce communism.
-Victory for Capitalism or Communism? Alike the Berlin Wall, the Korean War was not a victory for either side. Especially because the division still resides today. Both sides are able to run their portion of Korea under their views and government however neither side has yet to gain full control over the entire country.

-Causes: The Soviet Union responded to the allied powers attempt to merge western zones by blockading Berlin. The allies wanted to do this after the Soviets had dismantled 380 German factories. The Soviets blockaded Berlin so that they could control the economy coming out of Germany. This would place them in a position of economic power. Due to Germany now being divided, the allied powers take control over West Germany while the Soviets hold power over East Germany. The division leads to the Berlin Airlift in which the American military and its allies take supplies to West Germany by flying them in (Berlin Airlift).
-Who was Involved? Allied Powers and the Iron Curtain (Also effected and involved the German society).
-Significant Features: The Berlin Airlift and the Berlin Wall were significant during the blockade because the wall was a physical barrier that kept the two sides apart and the Airlift was a system in which the people living on the West side could receive everything they needed to live with.
-Was it a NATO/Warsaw Pact Issue? Yes
-Connected to Containment Theory? This was connected to the Containment Theory but not in the traditional way. The wall and blockade was more for dividing communism and capitalism than for keeping communism away from the allied powers.
-Victory for Capitalism or Communism? At first it was not a victory for either side. Each political viewpoint was used on both sides of the wall so both systems were represented. In 1989 the Berlin Wall will come down which created a bigger victory for capitalism because it was more appealing too the people who had been forced to live under communistic views all of their life however there was never a clear victor.
