I expect him to have many relapses in the future, but I hope he will mostly overcome his mental illness. I worry that once he leaves his stressful, prestigious academy, Executive Pre-Professional High School, he might have unrealistic expectations on how much his life is going to improve, thus disappointing him and lowering his mental health. In the beginning of the book, Craig is extremely anxious and insecure. When he enjoys eating -a rare occurrence- he eats with gusto. Most times though, he can hardly choke down a few bites before vomiting. By the end of the novel, Craig has become much more comfortable with eating. Considering Craig's extreme daily problem with eating, this is a major accomplishment. Craig is easy to relate to and a very likable character. Craig faces his situation with humor, appealing to the reader.
