Because of this reason, it is a good idea to do something unusual, above all in the field of learning, and show students all the learning resources they can find outside the school. 

Nowadays schools are focused mainly on fulfilling the requirements of the expectations in the standardized tests and therefore classes are structured with that as the main focus, leaving no room to field trips or even to consider how enriching these opportunities can be for children.

-Look for information about the place on the internet or local library before the field trip.

If they are going to visit more than one, they can choose in groups one of which they should look for information and then, when they be outside of it, they should tell to the rest of their classmates what they found.
