Once they know you are in a certain groupl, their perspective of you will begin to become associated with that group's public idea, in a way. To keep with this topic, I think people with less income might see themselves as different, obviously if a person who isn't actually motivated to become the 1%, they won't actively be trying to put themselves in a place in society where they are equal.
