PYP Exhibition- 9th-13th May

Reflection

This week we started to work with our groups. We learned how to collaborate with each other, we met with our student mentor 2 times. In this week, we finalized our ATL’s (approaches to learning), LP’s (Learner profiles), Lines of Inquiry, and our central idea. We mailed our teacher mentor and Mr. Graham this week and sent her our timetable so that we can schedule our first meeting next week. We have completed many tasks this week, together as a group and individual. In this week we visited our library to get some books related to our topics in our PYP Exhibition time. We have also learnt many things about exhibition with our student mentor, library books, and our research.

First, we were given a checklist of what we had to complete this week. We got into our groups and started ticking tasks we already did and marked the tasks we had to do. Our group divided the tasks we were meant to finish. After that we had to choose our ATL’s (approaches to learning) skills in our group and LP’s (learner profiles).

Then the next day we started creating our artworks related to the Ukraine war on the app “Procreate” We then met with our student mentors and discussed the LP’s and ATL’s we chose and asked her if we need to change them. We also asked our student mentor if we could improve our art works.

The next day, we made some of our research questions related to each key concept. We started researching them with some of the library books. We also searched them on trusted websites on internet. We were then called by our class teacher Ms. Cherise to conference with her about our progress. We were also asked to give our LPs to our teacher. One of my group members also found out a video which had information about a person who is a true Ukrainian soldier.

According to our group, we had completed almost all our tasks. Fortunately, we were able to finish all the tasks on the checklist this week. We were confident with the research and the work we had done this week. We were done with almost all our research. The only thing we have not done is interviewing people.

Our Goals for next week:

- Start interviewing people

- Make new art works

- Have our first teacher mentor meeting

- Finish our research

- Meet our student mentor once again to ask her if our progress is fine.

Student mentor feedbacks:

- You can maybe make your artworks a bit dark so that it stands out more.

- Try to contact the Ukraine Embassy in UAE

- Do your tasks one by one not in hurry

- How will you take action?

- Utilize your time

- Avoid getting distracted

- Contact Mr. Graham

These are the feedbacks we got from our student mentor which our pretty helpful.
