My name is Mariasilvia, but everyone calls me Silvia, and I'm a special education teacher at a preschool. I work at the Bagnolo Cremasco Comprehensive Institute (IC), located in the province of Cremona, but actually 30 kilometers from Milan, Italy's "moral capital" (as in Italy we say).

My school has 1,103 students, 84 of whom have a certified disability (in Italy they call it 104). Six of them are in preschool, two of whom are my students, and they're both three years old.

Of the two children, A., who has autism spectrum disorder and is currently nonverbal, will work on the project with me.

I live alone with three cats (I had a dog who died in September and I miss her dearly). I love movies, especially horror films, reading, especially nonfiction, and I'm enrolled in the Faculty of Communication Sciences in Milan. I've been a journalist for most of my life.

I discovered eTwinning two years ago, and did my first project was last year. However, since everyone at my school is obsessed with CLIL, this year, they made me the school coordinator. I still don't know how much I like eTwinning, but I'm certainly curious to discover new teaching techniques, and I'm sure eTwinning is an excellent opportunity to learn more. I'm also lazy, so I used automatic translation to write this post. :p

PS: I really enjoy being a special education teacher (I earned my university specialization in special education two years ago), especially in early childhood. I think choosing a joint project on attention was a brilliant idea.

The students range in age from 6 to 22. I work in a middle school setting. I have two students with intellectual disabilities in my class. I love my students and my job.

In my free time, I read and travel.
