Britain colonized Kenya mainly for the resources and geographical location that the country possessed. Kenya contained fertile highlands which attracted many European farmers. The British mainly wanted to colonize Kenya due to it giving way to Uganda which was known as a strategic source of the Nile river . Also, like many other African countries, Kenya were rich in gold , iron ,coffee , timber and ivory, which attracted many European countries. Also, Kenya provided sunlight which Britain did not have often meaning that they could benefit from growing crops in Kenya and shipping back to Britain. I believe that the main reason Britain colonized India was economical as the country was rich in resources which could mainly benefit them econmiva

We believe the British colonised Kenya for mainly because of their resources, and their location. Kenya has fertile land on the western side, which grows many resources such as cotton, tea, coffee and timber. More resources grown in Kenya are ivory and gold. Kenya was also colonised for their location, as they are close to the coast, which is very convenient for trade, which was done. Another main reason was the climate. This relates to the resources as because of the climate, they were able to grow so many resources, which the British couldn't do in Britain, thus it was a very valuable part of the British Empire

I believe that the British were interested by Kenya because of it location and resources. Kenya is
located on the coast, so Kenya has the sea, forests and lakes. With all of these they have lots of resources

I think that the British colonised Kenya for mainly economic reasons. There was alot of fertile lands which was good for farming. The Kenyans grew cotton, tea coffee and timber. This offered the British cheap labour as they sold these resources for a very high price without paying much or even anything for them. Kenya also had ivory and gold. British also colonised Kenya for fame and glory as there was alot of competition from other European counties like France and Portugal to colonise countries in Africa.
