We had a list of different angles to do and our target was to shoot them all. We also went over how to work the camera and learn things like manual focusing, white balancing and exposure levels. This gave me a better understanding of cameras and taught me to set up my camera correctly before shooting. Next time I go to shoot a video or photo, I must always bare in mind the settings on the camera, and adjust the exposure, white balance and the focus before shooting. I also learnt what a shot list is and what they are for, next time I will arrange the shot list so that it is more time organised so I will not come back to the class late because I did today. In the afternoon we done some filming based on a script from the film "The Room" and we chose the different angles we wanted to use for the video. We used angles such as the dutch tilt for action moments, and over the shoulders for for emotional scenes. We was originally going to film in the Leisure Zone, but we got asked to leave as we wasn't allowed to film in there. So then we resorted to the college campus at the reception, and this is where we filmed our short film. We explored different angles in using the tripod and the camera. Our time managed wasn't great as it took longer than expected because we did not plan to get told to leave the Leisure Zone, and therefore was stuck for an moment on where to go. Afterwards, we had Andreas, and we spoke about visual language, such as traffic lights, and what an object symbolises like a snake. When we talked about the traffic light, the traffic light was the signifier, and the information you obtain from the traffic light, so what to do at different colours, is the signified. I After lunch, we had Dave, and we talked about lighting. We learned that dim, low down lighting was for horror films and to create suspense, and centre, bright lighting is more for comedies and plays. We used three LED lights and positioned them in the Key Light, Fill Light and Bak Light position and used it on a model head to create different effects. Some pole took photos of the model head with the different lighting used on it. One challenge was to turn on all the lights so that the head created no contrast on itself. Both lessons were very productive and I learnt a lot from what they have taught us. After lunch, we watched the trailer for "Dexter" and talked about the symbolism in the different actions by the main character, as it was based around a serial killer. I have been using photoshop for over a year already, so I did know some features of it before hand like many others, but I did learn a lot more features in photoshop which will help me a lot in the future. We was shown the basics by Dave, and was just told to play around and experiment to get the feel of it. We was also shown different filters such as Gaussian blur, Hue and Saturation, Brightness and Contrast, Levels etc. It was a very productive day and it taught me a lot about different theories, and photoshop. In the future, I should again work quicker to finish my work, so I do not have any homework, or have as minimum amount as possible. I finished the film on time, but I feel as though I should have added more to it instead of just putting them in sequence, which is what I will keep in mind next time I am editing a video. Overall the day was very fun and useful, as I learnt a lot from myself and from others. Next time I will take into consideration all the things I can do with editing and put that to my advantage to create the best possible video.

Unfortunately we did not manage to find anyone that would volunteer to answer our questions, so we went back for lunch. After lunch we stayed within the college campus to ask the questions to some students or teachers instead of the general public, and it worked. we managed to ask 4 different people the same questions and we got different responses for them all. Once we finished, we went back to the area so I could begin editing. While I was editing everyone else was working on their survey monkey surveys, that I need to finish tomorrow. So I decided to make a video based of that picture where someone would die by getting shot and it would narrate saying quick, the nit'll show someone as they progress getting older and wearier quick from smoking, and when they pass, it'll say "Slow", and for my print based advert, it was a person sitting in a run down room, with a bubble for a head and it'll say as the caption "Don't let the pills pop you" as they can be deadly also. The filming and acting done by the people that came went very well and everything was done right just before lunch. After lunch, I began editing the rest of the shots we had filmed. Along the way, I encountered a problem... I felt the transition between two of the shots didn't work well, so me and Dave managed to come up with an idea to create a smooth, professional transition. I was really pleased with the outcome from that, and I definitely learnt something new from doing so. After working with that, I moved downstair into the reception, where I waited to give someone a tour of the open plan area. Eventually I gave mother and her son a tour of the media area, talking about different projects that we work on, and what the environment is like when working here. We ended up coming across Loraine, where she spoke to the son and mother in more detail about the course.
