De verpleegkundigen komen 2x per dag langs om de glycemie te meten en de insuline toe te dienen met de insulinepen.

Regelmatig moet ze een paar dagen overnachten in het ziekenhuis om haar medicatie op punt te stellen. Tussendoor gaat ze op consultatie om haar glycemiewaarden op te volgen.

Via een app worden deze automatisch doorgestuurd naar haar begeleidende arts. 

Ze moet ook regelmatig op controle bij de oogarts. Door de diabetes gaat haar zicht zienderogen achteruit. In haar mond heeft ze een wondje dat maar niet wil genezen. Dat is ook een gevolg van de diabetes. Net als de wondjes op haar voet. Die moet ze extra goed verzorgen.
En haar dieet ... dat moet ze strikt volgen.
