In Arizona, like any other state/country we use fossil fuels, but unfortunately those resources could run out within the next several years. Fossil fuels are resources such as oil, natural gas, and coal. Not only are these resources not sustainable, they also cause pollutants to enter the air and pollute the Earth. Scientists have done extensive research come up with ways that we can create new energy that is renewable and sustainable.

The most efficient type of renewable energy to use in Arizona would be solar energy. The following picture explains how solar energy works.

(Please note: There are other renewable energy sources, such as wind power and water power).

Well, for starters Solar Energy is sustainable because the sun is always shining on the Earth. One day of sun shine can provide the amount of energy that the entire world uses in a whole year! Which means that this could be a solution to our problem.
The reason this is so beneficial in Arizona is because the sun shines almost daily here. Imagine how much energy we could create in only a week.
