         <title>Ask questions in announcements</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I ask questions in the announcements to try to get students to read the announcements and respond.  For example "Here are some examples of real life vertical angles.  Can you think of one?" Then I celebrate those who respond and share their answers in the announcements and through text/Canvas email.   This gives me a celebration and an instructional piece and hopefully builds interest inthe students to read and respond.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I started from the very beginning and I let them know it was a WEEKLY requirement for the course.  If I don't hear from them by Thurs. then I start texting them.  I tell them if they don't want me to call them, then text me each week :)  I don't nag as much if I have heard from  a kid at least one of the two weeks in each period.  The text me tuesday question is also something random so they have something to at least say to me other than hi. </div>]]></description>
