We all agreed that Neil Gaiman is super good at flipping around regular fairy tale stuff, making the story darker and more detailed, kind of breaking the usual rules for kids' stories. We also talked a lot about how fear is a big deal in Coraline's adventure. We looked at how the way the story is told, like in separate parts, builds up the excitement. We chatted about how some characters, especially the mysterious Other Mother, make us question what's right or wrong. Coraline being super tough and brave became a big topic too – everyone thought she's a great example for facing tough stuff.
