The sensory nerve converts outside stimuli into electrical signals which are then carried to the CNS (Central Nervous System). These nerves are mainly put into the CNS but also float around the body searching for stimuli and help many body parts such as arms and legs. Peripheral neuropathy is a disease that weakens the nerves outside of the brain and spinal cord. This disease leads to numbness and pain in the hands, feet and other parts of your body due to the loss of nerves which can lead to the complete stop of a body part. This rids some body parts of their function and leads to a loss in the nervous system (as it is severely damaged) and bodily functions.
