Are humans inherently evil? I believe that we are not born as an "evil" but instead society shapes us into having a "dark/evil" side. I also think that it truly depends where you come from (your childhood). I think that our exposure to society can affect a "evil" side to us. I think that evil is a vague term, but instead I think that we are born as wild animals/ savages. Like any animal you have to "tame" them in order for them to be "good". I think that this ideology is the same for humans. Being good has to be taught, and we are born neutral without having a good or bad side

Power is in our every day lives. From day one, many people strive to obtain power. We go to school to receive an education to find a job to get a promotion and so on and so forth. We're innately driven by a need for power because many people around us have some sort of power that we envy. Whether it be a friend or a boss, power is constantly hovering around heads and the need to reach it is unstoppable.

At the core, humans are driven by their need for power. This might not show, however, due to the fact that many people would prefer not to be in positions of power. In the basic instincts of the human mind, survival is key. People may join groups and not be in positions of power as this would not draw attention to them, and allow them to build up the power needed to survive.

When the social order breaks down, humans will go into a state of savagery as their natural instincts take over. The simple need to survive will take over any attempts to recreate social order. The only way social order can be restored is if humans start to be comfortable in the state they are in, if ample resources are available humans tend to socialize more, thats how societies are created.

We are usually afraid of things we have never experienced, but we are only afraid of them because we are told to be scared of them. Evilness is a product of society, since without a society someone cannot be evil. Humans are born with survival instincts. Sometimes these instincts can drive humans to do savage things but I don't think a need for survival can be called evil. Humans can be driven to evil by society and those who have power over them.

Many dangers or consequences come with conformity or compliance to rules or laws. This was extremely evident in the Milgram Experiment. The experiment was a test administered by Stanley Milgram where he made subjects administer shocks to a person behind a screen he can not see when they failed to answer a question correctly. He was forced to continue to give shocks of high electricity a dangerous levels. Despite knowing that the person on the other side was going through a lot of pain, he continued to give shocks because that was the rules of the test. While the shocks were fake and no one was hurt in the experiment, Milgram showed that complying to these harsh dangerous rules, put people in danger.

Fear is one of the most powerful feelings because it is one of the most basic ones. It has the ability to overpower common sense and critical thinking, which means that it is hard to control but easy for other people to use for their benefit. Appealing to people's fear and encouraging it is an easy way to gain power over many; fearmongering has been used by rulers and dictators for as long as they have been around in order to oppress people and keep them from deciding what is right and wrong for themselves. Fear also makes people act negatively on their most basic instincts. It brings out almost everyone's desire to survive, no matter what. For example, even if it is only a percieved or false danger, fear can, among other things, make people violent, even when they typically aren't.

Humans are inherently savage and will therefore do anything to keep themselves in a position that favors them, because that is what animals do to survive.

To answer this question, one has to know what "inherently" means and what "evil" means. Inherently means that a trait or characteristic is innate or was already there at birth. Evil means being immoral, wicked, or bad. Humans are not inherently evil, rather they are born neutral and taught one way or another based on their environment (society, situation, etc.). Humans are inherently savage and are then taught to be civil and that in order to survive, a human will do evil actions but acting in an evil way and being evil are two different things.

I believe humans are born at a neutral state, based on how they grow up with the people around them that's how they will turn out. If you grow up in a warm loving household you wont grow up hating people and wanting to do evil things 9 times out of 10 not all the time but that's how it is normally. if you grow up in a household where there is screaming and fighting constantly and you aren't loved or taught at an early age you will 9 time out of 10 grow up following an evil path, or as we say the wrong path/road. i also believe humans are wild animal domesticated by society to fit in with us evolving as a self aware, multi cellular species. that's why we call cavemen and women Neanderthals. I do believe you are a product of your environment but i also believe humans are inherently evil because it is a far easier path to follow than to be good or inherently good.

People can also choose a different option or not choose to do anything at all because they fear the outcome. Fear is also a feeling that can be really difficult to control, but if it isn't to overwhelming it can be extremely powerful. Some of the time people will try to find someones fear so they rule them in that one area.
In my opinion humans are more inherently evil then not, because they have natural survival instincts. For example they act as wild animals, fighting for food, power and wants. Also in the past there have been many times when people act evil to gain power over someone, for example slavery and Hitler during World War 2.
