Based on the short story, Gibraltar by Mark Sutz, the story is about an identical twins, Oscar and Oliver that were indistinguishable by most people. The two had been apprenticing on a research vessel, the Fathom when they were eighteen. Unfortunately, Oscar, the captain John Angelotti and his daughter, Luisa died due to strong levanter. At the end of the story, Oliver pretended to be Oscar, his twins.

In my opinion,I think Oliver did not reveal his true identity of himself to anyone because he wanted to inherit the treasure and to become the heir of to its ownership. This is because, in the story, his twin Oscar was married to the daughter of the captain, Luisa. This made him the heir apparent to its ownership. Other than that, it is said that Luisa's choice of Oscar as her lover and companion made meant his place was way more secure than Oliver.

I personally think that what Oliver did was wrong because he was intended to take his brother part as someone honorable. In the story he mentioned that he wished as hard as he has ever wished for anything in his life that by taking his brother's place in this life, he was doing the most honorable thing.

To sum up, Gibraltar is a very interesting short story with unexpected ending.

Based on the short story "Gibraltar" by Mark Sutz, i find the reason Oliver did not reveal his true identity is because he had wanted a claim on the Fathom and the treasures as written in the story " without that possibility of working with him(Oscar) and Luisa on the Fathom once the captain had retired and passed it onto them. Now i had no claim to it at all". This shows that Oliver had atleast wanted a claim on the Fathom and its treasures maybe for a memorabilia of Oscar and their adventures also by not revealing himself Oliver thought he was doing an honourable thing for Oscar.
By my perspective, Oliver was not doing the right thing as pretending to be someone else is wrong and can be harmful to the mind as it gives a sense of fake reality.

Based on the short story, Gilbraltar by Mark Sutz. The story is about identical twins Oscar and Oliver they were on adventure for treasure hunt on a research vessel. One day a rainstorm happen and Oliver survived but Oscar sadly didn't, after the incident happen Oliver never reveal himself.

I think Oliver never reveal his true identity of himself to anyone because he can inherit the Fathom with his brother identity so the Fathom will never gone. Oliver was never mean to live as Oscar but Oliver want to protect the Fathom. In my opinion, what Oliver did is wrong what if someday the truth was reveal, people will never trust him anymore and think he just want to inherit the Fathom assets.

Lying to others are big issues that can bring harm to yourself and others. In my opinion, lie as much as you much but the truth will always been told. For example, you told others that you study and that is why you have high grade but the truth you cheated in exam. When your result are great people around you are proud and trusted you can do it but imagine if they know the truth alot of people might get hurt and throw to you.

In conclusion, think before you do sometimes it is better to tell the truth than lying even you didn't mean to harm anyone. The story of Gilbratar is quite intresting but I never expect that Oliver was going to lie about identity.

I think, oliver did not reveal his identity to anyone because he wanted to inherit the Fathom to gain the treasure.

In the story, oliver said that without oscar he will not have a claim to the Fathom at all. Even though Oliver hoped that it is an honorable thing to do for oscar, I still think that it was a wrong thing to do because no matter how identical they were, both of them were still a different person.

Being true to yourself is important. Living as someone else will never make you happy because you are lying to yourself. No matter how identical you are with someone, your heart is still different. I once read about twins and they develop different personalities from each other and everyone have different personalities.

In conclusion the story is an interesting story and it gives readers quite the confusion.

In the short story titled Gibraltar by Mark Sutz the story revolved around a pair of identical twins, Oliver and Oscar which have been apprenticing on a research vessel, the Fathom, to learn the business call treasure hunting but then something tragic happen to one of them. Oliver did not want to reveal his true identity because he want to inherit his brother's possession.
This is proven when Luisa chose to marry Oscar rather than him, Oliver somehow triggered because his twin position is more secure than him. Oscar was made the heir apparent to its ownership. This meant that Oscar is going to be richer than him. Then, when he know that Oscar died and being washed overboard that night, he was shocked. But then he realized that Don, one of the ship crew member who survived from the storm called him by his twin's name. At that moment, he imagined if he chose to live with his brother's name, he can inherit all of his brother's wealth.
I do not think Oliver's lie was a right decision to make. Nowadays people tend to take advantage over other people for the sake of the possession.
In conclusion, the short story is interesting and it provide the readers with mixed elements of sad and surprise.

The short story titled Gibraltar by Mark Sutz, the story about twins brother Oscar and Oliver goes on an adventure in the sea to find a treasure.when their on hunting for treasure, the rainstorm happen and Oscar,Captain John Angelotti and Luisa died. The end of this story will make many people wonder why Oliver changed his identity to become his brother's identity Oscar.

What I think about why Oliver did not reveal his true identity of himself to everyone because he wanted to inherit the treasure and to become the Captain of the Fathom. Before he change identity,I think he would be sad because he had lost his brother. But suddenly his want to stay the Oscar identity because Don call him as Oscar.Maybe Oliver thought that he did a honorable thing to replace Oscar position.

In my opinion,Oliver has made the wrong decision to live as his brother's identity. He should be honest and does not take advantage such as Oliver tries to take over the Oscar position. If he is honest, maybe he will be able to get some property because only he is living and he is a good twins to the Oscar.

In conclusition, this short story gives us a good message as we must be yourself and not being greedy. In addition, this story is very surprising readers because he able to living as someone else for his own interest.
