This is my favorite quote, because it is so arrogant in a good way. What I mean is that Oliver the main character only thought this to shut down his dads ego. This quote comes after a flashback to when Oliver was a baby and his dad was talking on the phone to a friend. His dad says basically says that he loves his son, but he is holding him down from being able to create something amazing. Little does the dad know that he already had made something amazing, Oliver.

Book review from: Booklist

Gr 7–9— Lieb's first novel is a comedy/sci-fi fantasy about Oliver Watson, an overweight 12-year-old from Omaha, NE, who fools his family and classmates into thinking that he is slow-witted when in fact he is the world's third-richest person. He overthrows foreign dictators, owns corporations, is a successful inventor and investor, and is on the way to attaining his goal of world domination. This evil supergenius, who makes Artemis Fowl look ready for sainthood, has the appeal of a cartoon villain. His father and arch nemesis is too involved in running a local PBS affiliate and too uninvolved in his son. What Oliver really wants is his dad's approval and attention. He decides that the way to get this is to win the election for president of the eighth-grade class at Gale Sayers Middle School. Lieb perfectly captures the wise-guy sarcasm and trash mouth of a seventh-grade evil genius. Readers will love the sci-fi/fantasy touches, from Oliver's elaborate underground lair to the transmitter implanted in his jaw and his installing root beer and chocolate milk at the school's water fountain (of course, only he knows how to make it work). The format—short blurbs of text interspersed with humorous black-and-white photos—will appeal to reluctant readers. Although the book has as little subtlety as its title, certainly the theme of a boy wanting his father's love is a universal one. This is a book kids will be talking about.—Connie Tyrrell Burns, Mahoney Middle School, South Portland, ME --Connie Tyrrell Burns (Reviewed October 1 , 2009) (School Library Journal, vol 55, issue 10, p130)

I agree with this review because it describes the book very well. It is a fun combination of fantasy and realistic fiction. I like how the review goes into detail on the sci-fi aspect of the book, but I feel that it could have highlight how relatable this book is to anyone who is in or went through middle school. I definetly agree about how funny the crude humor is throughout the book. I do not think any adult would like the book, but kids would like it.

This image of a baby ape trying to walk to its parent is symbolic of the book, because that is what Oliver is trying to do throughout the entire book. Up until the very end Oliver was hiding, but all he wanted was for his dad to care about him. The entire motive of the book was Oliver wanted to be class president just so that his dad would be proud of him. At the start Oliver was claiming he was doing it to one up his dad, but then his real motivation became very clear. In this scenario Oliver is the baby ape while his dad is the adult ape.

This piece of foreshadowing is the first little glimpse that we get of Oliver actually wanting his dad's approval. Before this point all of our thoughts were just predictions, but now we know what Oliver is up to. This point is not the climax but may have well been, because it is a huge leap forward for the readers. Up until now that reader had thought that Oliver wanted to one up his dad and make him feel angry. In reality, he just wants his dad to accept the genius son he created.

This image is symbolic of mischief in nature. Throughout the entire book Oliver was doing things that were bad, but in the end it worked out. In the image the bear will be stung, but in the end he will get the honey. Towards the end of the end of the book Oliver calls in a missile strike to destroy the giant balloon of himself, it cost him a lot of money, time, and explaining but it worked out in the end.
