This was a great article! Things like performance reviews and health insurance are things I never thought of as UD, but are definitely huge factors of an accessible and welcoming workplace. For me, regular check-ins with my supervisor and communicating in multiple ways (which an online environment works well for) are huge aspects of UD too. Thank you Sine, Aley, and Lindsay for sharing your perspectives, they were very insightful!

I loved this article. I think the most important thing when it comes to dis/ability is creating a culture of openness, trust, and respect for all. All of these things help me as a disabled person communicate my needs in different spaces. Advocating for yourself is hard, so when ppl/orgs/events have already done the first step in creating an environment where differences are figured out together, it lessens the burden on me to have to feel like my sole advocate. No one holds all the answers all the time, and that's important to remember!
