This book is great to use when teaching children about colors. Throughout the book, the author presents different colors, ways to mix colors to make new ones, and also different ways to use crayons. It also teaches the reader that you should never give up and that an ending, such as a crayon breaking, can be turned into a new beginning. This book would be appropriate for preschool-second grade age children. It would be useful to use in an art class when teaching children about colors and how to mix colors.

Charlotte's Web is a wonderful boo to read aloud in the classroom. It is a longer book, so it could be an ongoing read aloud. It teaches children about the importance of having a friend. Wilbur is a pig who creates a special friendship with a spider named Charlotte. Charlotte ends up saving Wilbur's life when he is almost killed for being too small. This is a book that could be read in a kindergarten to fifth grade classroom.

Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes is a fun book to read to smaller children. I have read it many times in preschool classrooms, and the children love it. The book is also a song that the children can sing along to and have fun with. When Pete steps in different colors, his shoes turn to that color, so it is a good book to teach children the different basic colors.
