I always thought of science as the way the world operates. Since a kid i always seen science as apart of every day life.

My thoughts haven't changed they just gained more knowledge and been opened to more. I still see science the same way but i understand that its bigger than just humans and nature.

I will continue to grow and use science for life purposes and to gain more knowledge through research and investigation methods. Science will play a big part in future technology hopefully creating new ways to learn.

How the scientific method relates to scientific inquiry and how inquiry-based learning impacts student learning:

Before NS 100, I never took the time to separate the two. In high school I only remember hearing about the scientific method. Scientific inquiry is something that I just been introduced too.

Learning there's a difference in ways of finding out answers in science is new. I feel like I wasn't given the chance and opportunity to receive that knowledge.

Now that I'm fully aware of the difference in methods, I can make sure as a future educator I teach my students every way there is to learn and gather information. I truly feel I was let down by past science teachers and the only I can fix it is by teaching what I'm currently learning about.

The characteristics of life and what it means to be alive:

Being able to wake up everyday and function is life. We live to survive and reproduce. Having the ability to grow and be responsive to our environment is just a few of the characteristics.

The thought about life has always been the same. I feel like I always had the basic understanding of what it means to live even though I've learned a lot more in my life journey.

I will continue to grow and learn as much as I possibly can about life and its many characteristics. I plan on learning more about life of other forms such as plants, animals, and the different ways cells work for different forms of life.

How microscopic changes have macroscopic effects:

I knew microscopic had something to basically do with needing a microscope to see but I never really studied much or used a microscope in any lesson. Something having macroscopic effects was a topic I was not familiar with.

I wouldn't say my thoughts have changed but I will say my knowledge on the topic has expanded. I now understand how it relates to simple things like air in a room, temperature,

volume and density. This is knowledge I didn't have before enrolling in NS 100 and the research I've been doing.

Now that I know more about the subject, I plan on furthering my knowledge with research into cells, cell shapes and the positives and negatives of them both. I don't plan on becoming an expert but knowing the basics is something i want to improve my knowledge and understanding on.

How your scientific perspective has changed since the beginning of the semester:

Before NS 100 my perspective about science was fairly basic in a way. The human body and nature was the only things I really associated with science if I wasn't in a classroom.

Now that I've been doing research and getting my information on science from a different stand point, I'm starting to connect the different ways of learning and science together. Reading some of the articles I've read during this course has helped me gain knowledge of more things I can associate science with.

Moving forward, science will become a big part of my life. Teaching students is a science in my opinion. You have to be able to understand how students think, what affects there learning, and things of that nature to succeed as a teacher.

How your experiences with NS 100 relate to your apprenticeship in the classroom

Before taking NS 100 I only had experience from observation. What I've learn from observing vs what I've learned in class both are turning out to be sufficient experiences.

Not only have my thoughts changed, I see things different from when I was just observing. Now that I'm teaching I see that it is more to it than just presenting and teaching a lesson. Some of the things I've learned in NS 100 have been helpful in my classroom, like understanding all students learn different.

I will continue to study and use these methods I've learned about in NS 100. My interest is more into the way students think. I will put more of an effort in not just developing my teaching skills but also learning my students strengths and weaknesses in order to help improve learning capabilities.
