As students who are busy with classes and extracurricular activities, they find the need for a quick and easy way to refresh themselves throughout the day. However, traditional perfume bottles are often large and impractical due to their weight to use while on campus. </p><p><br/></p><p>Furthermore, the price of perfume with its original bottle is expensive for students to buy. This sparked the idea to create a practical and affordable fragrance solution that fits easily into a pocket or bag, providing convenience without affecting the quality.</p><p><br/></p><p>With the idea in place, market research has revealed a gap for practical perfumes that cater to young professionals, students, and busy individuals who need an easy way to stay fresh all day. The trend towards on-the-go lifestyle products is growing, and there is a clear demand for compact and affordable fragrance options. Therefore, the 10ml pen perfume concept was finalized and started to be developed.</p><p><br/></p><p><a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Very%C3%A9.co">Veryé.co</a>'s product design is focused on an easy-to-use appearance, with sleek and stylish transparent glass bottles providing a premium feel. A variety of fragrances have also been selected to suit a variety of tastes, ensuring a wide choice for customers. With a size that is easy to carry and a reasonable price of RM10, <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Very%C3%A9.co">Veryé.co</a> wants to be an attractive option for the target audience.</p><p><br/></p><p><a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Very%C3%A9.co">Veryé.co</a> uses various digital marketing strategies to build brand awareness and drive sales. With active engagement on social media platforms, <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Very%C3%A9.co">Veryé.co</a> received a positive initial response with strong sales performance. Since its launch, <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Very%C3%A9.co">Veryé.co</a> has launched six attractive and premium fragrances for many to choose from, namely Aventus, Coco Mademoiselle, Black Opium, La Vie Est Belle, Lady Million, and Flora. <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Very%C3%A9.co">Veryé.co</a> will continue to grow with more fragrance options that meet customer needs and a dedication to continuous improvement.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Very%C3%A9.co">Veryé.co</a>'s mission is to provide high-quality fragrances in a practical design and affordable, meeting the needs of a busy modern lifestyle. On Instagram, high engagement was achieved through visually appealing content, such as photos, videos, and interactive features like polls and Q&amp;A sessions, although consistency issues occasionally led to lower engagement periods. Facebook, on the other hand, was not very effective for Verye.co as the reach was limited because of the requirement to invest in paid advertising. TikTok offered viral potential with short, creative videos that highlighted the product's unique features, leveraging trends and challenges to boost visibility, though building a following was time-consuming and not all content types performed equally well. WhatsApp excelled in providing direct and personal communication, with the ability for quick responses and stronger relationships with customers, but less scalable for broader marketing campaigns. Email marketing allowed personalized campaigns and promotions directly to subscribers, resulting in good open and click-through rates, yet there was a risk of emails being marked as spam or ignored if not targeted effectively. </p><p><br/></p><p>ii.&nbsp;<strong>Customer online experience</strong></p><p>On <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Verye.co">Verye.co</a>'s social media, engaging and visually appealing content on Instagram and TikTok made browsing enjoyable, while Facebook’s group interactions create a sense of community, increasing customer satisfaction. The presence of positive customer reviews and user-generated content further created a trustworthy shopping environment. Additionally, the practice of responding to reviews added a personal touch, significantly improving the overall customer experience.</p><p><br/></p><p>iii.&nbsp;<strong>Response to customers’ inquiries</strong></p><p>Our team at <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Very%C3%A9.co">Veryé.co</a> maintained a generally prompt response time to inquiries across all platforms, with particularly quick replies on WhatsApp and Instagram, which helped build trust and efficiently resolve customer issues. The responsiveness of our customer support was marked by personalized and helpful replies, effectively addressing specific concerns and questions. This high level of support was well-received by our customers, as reflected in the positive feedback we received. By ensuring timely and personalized communication, we were able to enhance customer satisfaction and reinforce the reliability of our brand.</p><p><br/></p><p>iv. <strong>Trust development with the customers</strong></p><p>Trust development with our customers at <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Very%C3%A9.co">Veryé.co</a> was significantly reinforced through multiple strategic efforts. Transparency played a crucial role, as regular updates and clear communication about our products, pricing, and company policies built credibility while sharing behind-the-scenes content on social media added a layer of authenticity. Consistent branding and messaging across all platforms reinforced our brand identity, further contributing to customer trust. Additionally, ensuring secure payment gateways and robust protection of customer data online enhanced the security and trustworthiness of our brand. These combined efforts build a strong, trustworthy relationship with our customers, solidifying their confidence in <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Very%C3%A9.co">Veryé.co</a>.</p><p><br/></p><p>v. <strong>Fulfilment effectiveness of the product</strong></p><p>At <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Very%C3%A9.co">Veryé.co</a>, our order processing is made through Instagram, Facebook and Whatsapp and payment method includes cash and bank transfer. The quality of our 10ml pen perfume met and often exceeded customer expectations, leading to positive reviews and encouraging repeat purchases, which reinforced trust and satisfaction. Additionally, our attention to attractive and secure packaging ensured that products arrived in excellent condition, enhancing the unboxing experience and further boosting customer satisfaction. Together, these elements contributed to a seamless and satisfying customer journey, cementing loyalty and trust in our brand.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>The group's success &amp; unsuccessful attempts in doing the online marketing activities:</strong></p><p>Our successful attempt in doing the online marketing activities is that we managed to identify a specific target audience, primarily young professionals and students who need a fragrance that meets convenience and affordability. </p><p><br/></p><p>This was made successful through surveys and social media interactions where we confirmed that there was a demand for portable and affordable perfumes. Other than that, our other successes were our engaging content. Our content includes photos, videos, and reviews that highlight the convenience and portability of the pen perfume that invites positive engagement. However, our unsuccessful attempt would be our content frequency as there were periods when our content posting was inconsistent, and this led to reduced engagement and visibility. We focused heavily on Instagram and Facebook, neglecting other platforms like TikTok where our target demographic is highly active. This then leads to a challenge for us in sustaining sales momentum as there should be continuous marketing efforts and innovation after the initial launch.</p><p><br/></p><p>Besides that, we have successfully maintained responsive communication with our customers. Our team were very active in responding to customer inquiries and feedback and this builds trust and loyalty among customers.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Reflection of each group member's contribution </strong></p><p><strong>Vanessa Marie 81583 - Founder / CEO:</strong></p><p>Vanessa played a crucial role in providing strategic direction and overseeing the entire online marketing campaign. Her vision for the brand and product was what shaped our marketing strategy. She ensured that the team’s efforts were aligned with the company’s goals and values which contributed largely to a collaborative and focused working environment.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Jessie Paige 79672 - Marketing Manager 1</strong></p><p>Jessie plays a huge part in planning and executing the marketing campaigns. She excelled in coordinating social media activities and managing partnerships, which significantly boosted our brand’s visibility. Her ability to analyse market trends and adjust strategies accordingly was what led us to success.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Piravinah A/P Ravi 80972 - Marketing Manager 2</strong></p><p>Piravinah brought innovative ideas, particularly in content creation and audience engagement. Her creative approach to crafting engaging content helped capture the interest of our target audience. In addition to that, her analytical skills in monitoring campaign performance provided valuable insights for continuous improvement.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Nancy A/P Rayappan 80331 - Finance Manager</strong></p><p>Nancy’s financial oversight ensured that our marketing budget was allocated effectively. She kept track of expenses and provided regular updates on our financial statements, helping the team make informed decisions. Her cost-saving recommendations were crucial in optimizing our marketing spend.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Dyainel Jerangku 77932 - Branding and Design Manager</strong></p><p>Dyainel is instrumental in developing the visual identity of our product. His design expertise resulted in attractive, solid branding materials that captured our audience's attention. He also played a role in creating visually appealing advertisements and social media posts.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Clark Hans 79122 - Branding and Design Manager 2</strong></p><p>Clark collaborated closely with Dyainel to enhance our brand’s visual appeal. His attention to detail and creative mind were evident in the high-quality design assets that he produced. Clark’s work on the promotional graphics contributed to our brand’s professional and aesthetic image.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Suggestions on improved strategies to develop and maintain online customer</strong></p><p>The strategy that we need to improve to maintain online customer experience is to introduce more loyalty programs and incentives. First is to introduce point-based systems, where customers can earn points for each purchase they make whether it’s online or physical, and then these points can be redeemed for discounts. Creating point-based systems encourages customers to repeat their purchases.</p><p><br/></p><p>Secondly, almost similar to point-based systems, tiered rewards also give rewards to customers who spend a lot of time. Tiered rewards are a system where it offers different rewards to customers based on their spending.</p><p><br/></p><p>Next, we can also invest in AI chatbots. By using AI chatbots, we can handle inquiries more quickly and efficiently. This is because AI chatbots can focus more on complex issues and save up more time for the staff to reply, eventually, it can improve response times and customer satisfaction. </p><p><br/></p><p>Furthermore, we also can create augmented reality (AR) of our Verye perfume and display it on the website so that the customers can see how it looks in 360-degree rotation. This gives customers impressions of how the product looks up close since we did not set up a physical booth where customers can see the product up close before buying.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>How we would do the project differently if given another chance to re-do</strong></p><p>If we are given another chance to re-do the project, we can try on different products such as food or used clothes that are easy to sell. In the current project, we experienced difficulties in selling perfume as different people have different favourite scents. Because we didn’t conduct proper research on our target market, we faced difficulties in selling the perfumes despite reaching our sales targets.</p><p><br/></p><p>Next, we should set up a physical booth in the faculty student lounge or during UNIMAS Entrepreneurship Day. Since we are selling perfumes, a product tester is a good way to promote the product to the customers which results in efficient hard selling. This is because we only rely much on social media which is less effective since we did not provide a tester product or set up a booth for our customers to know the product. Besides that, we can try to promote more of our products outside of UNIMAS. In the current project, we only focus on UNIMAS students because we did not focus on outside of UNIMAS market such as Kuching and outside of Kuching. For future projects, we can try to market our products more by starting to focus both on Samarahan and Kuching.</p><p><br/></p><p>Other than that, we need to come up with proper planning. In the current project, the project did not have proper planning at the start of the semester because we were juggling with other assignments that started at the same time. For better improvement, we can try to start brainstorming the idea before the start of the semester especially during the semester break. On top of that, we can try to conduct more meetings such as weekly meetings to make sure everyone is on the same page and weekly updates. This is to ensure that we keep track of what we are doing without losing track weekly.</p><p><br/></p><p>In conclusion, the planning of this project experienced ups and downs as we were in a rush at the first attempt. But along the way, we can catch up and keep everything on track despite the delays. For the future project, all of the current problems will be our lesson on how we should conduct online business marketing in the future.</p>]]></description>

I get to apply my knowledge from the Online Marketing course to a real-world scenario starting from <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Verye.co">Verye.co</a>. The project allowed me to understand the dynamics of digital marketing, including audience targeting, content creation, utilizing social media at its core and the importance of consistent brand messaging. It also provided insight into the practical challenges and opportunities of managing multiple marketing channels. </p><p><br></p><p>This project is by far the toughest one for me as it is not just a project that can be done at the very last minute. It requires proper campaign planning, setting dates, brainstorming ideas for content creation and following the prepared timeline in implementing the plans from week 3. It also requires building relationships with customers, dealing with their inquiries, easing their purchase decision and having to deal with the pressure of hitting the sales target. Besides that, this project requires money and a lot of time spent on creating videos, posters, and copywriting. However, on the bright side of all these, I get to double the money that I have invested and get satisfaction from seeing happy customers in the process. </p><p><br></p><p>I viewed this project as an exercise in leadership, strategy and execution. My primary objective was to ensure that my group's marketing efforts were aligned with the company's vision and goals while also being flexible enough to adapt to the current market trend. Being allowed to lead my team members to achieve a common goal has made me see the true value of responsibility, integrity, and patience. It is undeniably challenging in terms of planning and monitoring but with teamwork, my team and I managed to turn those challenges into opportunities and strengths. I am blessed to have a team that cooperates, is not afraid to point out where I went wrong, gives suggestions and ideas, and works collaboratively to make this project work. This would not have been done without them. At the end of the day, we all learned something new together, especially from my mistakes. And especially with the guidance and knowledge from my lecturer, Assoc. Prof Dr. Mahani, what I thought was impossible, was made possible. </p><p><br></p><p>I'd proudly say that this group project has helped me discover what my strengths and weaknesses are and I will make it my new objective to improve  whatever I am lacking. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>My contributions and roles in completing the task</strong></p><p>I provided strategic direction for the project, which included defining our target marketing, setting clear goals, outlining key messages we wanted to communicate and preparing a sharing document that consisted of all the planning processes, dates, and task distributions, all of which my team collaboratively helped to improve from time to time to enhance a better planning process. My role ensured that the team had a clear and unified direction to follow. </p><p><br></p><p>Besides that, I facilitated collaboration among team members, ensuring that marketing managers, designers, and the finance manager towards our objectives. This was done by making it a must for all of us to update every single thing in the group chat to maintain focus and keep the project on track. </p><p><br></p><p>I also made crucial decisions regarding the allocation of resources, including budgeting for purchases of goods and selecting advertising platforms. In addition, I spent time researching free tools and technologies to enhance our marketing efforts to optimize our limited resources to achieve maximum impact. </p><p><br></p><p>I oversee the final output of all marketing materials and campaigns to ensure that they meet our brand standards and effectively communicate our value proposition. Besides that, I monitor every copywriting, ensuring they abide by the AIDCA model carrying my knowledge from being the Vice HOD for the Society of Marketing Talent (SMART) UNIMAS. My attention to detail helped maintain a high-quality standard across all touchpoints. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Improvement on the project if given another chance</strong> </p><p>What I would do differently to improve the group's performance if given another chance is first to develop a more detailed and consistent content calendar to ensure regular posting and engagement across all platforms. This is because consistency is key to maintaining audience interest and growing a follower base. The mistake made in this project is that the planning and implementation were not tally due to unavoidable circumstances. My group members and I were also occupied with other assignments that our postings were not consistent and some were not according to the initial date that we planned. </p><p><br></p><p>Besides that, I would want to expand our marketing efforts to include other platform like YouTube  to target different segments of the audience to reach a broader demographic and explore customer needs. In this project, we focused too much on just Instagram and Facebook and we also created a TikTok account late. Besides that, I would also want to explore more sales channel like Shopee and Lazada to increase customer shopping experience. </p><p><br></p><p>If I was given another chance to improve this project, I would want to also explore other products such as skin care products and makeup as I am very interested in those products and I think I would do better in that sense. If it were to still be perfume product, I would want to increase the variety of products especially male fragrance so customers can have more choices to choose from. </p><p><br></p><p>Lastly, to improve this project, I would do a regular and consistent meeting with the group members to keep everyone on track and to do proper planning for our online marketing activities to ensure a smooth process in planning implementation. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Reflecting on the project, it is clear that our efforts in marketing <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Verye.co">Verye.co</a>'s were fruitful although several improvements could have been made to make it better. The project provided a valuable learning experience in applying online marketing principles to a real-world scenario. Through strategic planning, effective content creation, and targeted customer engagement, we were able to successfully launch and promote our product across multiple digital platforms. The collaborative effort of the team, guided by a clear vision and clear strategy, resulted in strong market penetration and positive customer feedback.</p><p><br/></p><p>I would say that the online business and marketing campaign for <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Verye.co">Verye.co</a> was successful. In terms of profit achievement, I successfully reached over the targeted sales which is a total of RM237.08 and that shows that the marketing efforts effectively converted into sales.  We achieved significant engagement on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. The interactive content, and, consistent communication helped build a loyal customer base. In addition, our strategic use of various digital platforms enhanced brand visibility and recognition. Effective use of visual content contributed to increased awareness and interest in our product. </p><p><br/></p><p>We also received a positive feedback. The positive reviews and testimonials from customers affirmed the quality of our product and the effectiveness of our marketing strategies. This feedback was crucial in establishing trust and encouraging repeat purchases. Next, our ability to process and deliver orders promptly ensured customer satisfaction and maintained a positive brand reputation. And lastly, the cohesive work of the team, under my leadership, ensured that all aspects of the project were executed efficiently and effectively.          <description><![CDATA[<p>All members reached the sales target. The sales target was achieved by raising brand awareness through social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Marketing activities that have been done include content creation, promotional videos, polls and Q&amp;A sessions on Instagram stories. We also created a website for the business using Wix to ease customers' purchases through the website. Besides that, we also did personal selling among students in UNIMAS and outside of university.</p>]]></description>
