1. Engage- Make connections to prior learning and the concept is introduced in a way that gets the attention of the students. 
2. Explore- Identify and develop concepts, processes, and skills. This is where they explore their environment and find different materials. 
3. Explain: Discussing their understanding or begin to demonstrate new skills or behaviors. 
4. Elaborate: Develop a deeper understanding of the concept through new experience, and get to practice their new skills that was learned.
