I learned a lot about cooking, serving others, and being a great aunt from her. Last year, she died of Coronavirus. On the day of her funeral that I had to watch on Zoom because of the virus, through my tears, I thanked her for showing me how to be the best aunt to my nieces and nephews. When he first arrived from Ecuador not speaking a word of English but running and jumping around all morning all over the school, I went home with headaches every night. However, after I became good friends with his parents, he was never a problem again! LOL. He improved his English very fast and began to pay attention to all of his teachers. One little girl said she had never had a birthday party before.  I had cake, gifts, snacks, gift bags, decorations, and everything waiting for her a week later for her birthday.  I couldn't believe that she didn't get on the bus that morning!! It was a real birthday party set up just for her! I had the school call her mom, and they told her what was happening. Her mom brought her to summer school that day, and we all yelled, "Surprise!!" The happy look on her face made all my preparations (and money spent) worth it. Here are her friends watching her open her gifts.

My sister bought them these outfits because they had personalities like the Chipmunk characters. We still call them the Chipmunks when they are all together now.
