The Maori people loved their land and treasured it.  When they colonised they travelled there in ships/ canoes to a great fishing ground. They travelled the seas in search for land. The land today has changed a lot since they first colonised. When travelling there was a storm their ship broke and to save themselves they pulled themselves onto the canoe they they turned to stone</div>]]></description>
