3) Why is attitudes such an issue?

Our main reason for this issue is its domino effect on other issues - the attitudes of both the ageing individual and society's view. People currently are prejudice against the elderly in which assuming they are insignificant and provide little to society. This leads to a view that they should not be cared for, which in turn damages the amount of healthcare provided as well as actually increasing the health issues as presented later on. If we were to have a positive view of ageing, it would benefit the care provided and improve quality of life because they would be better cared for, thus in turn being brought into society in a way their capabilities are used beneficially, which will decrease rates of depression and low self worth.
