         <title>CENOZOIC ERA</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- the Cenozoic era is also known as "the age of mammals".<br>- composed of two periods:</div><ul>
<li>
<strong>TERTIARY:&nbsp;</strong>the period where the environment is warm and humid, which allowed mammals "to evolve further" and to fill in the gaps that dinosaurs left upon extinction.</li>
<li>
<strong>QUATERNARY:&nbsp;</strong>unlike the Tertiary period, the Earth's climate during this time was more on the cooler side, leading to a series of ice ages. These ice ages led to either adaptation of some mammals upon their surroundings, or sadly, extinction.</li>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Figueirido, et. al focused more on the skulls of the aforementioned species and their similarities.<br>- it was found that these species feed on plants 95% at a time, explaining why they have broad, short skulls with deep jaws and stout molars.<br>- this study of Figueirido, Palmqvist, Perez-Calros, and Dong entitled&nbsp;<em>Naturwissenschaften</em>&nbsp;also states that the skulls of giant panda species were said to be utilized as a tracker of the evolutionary history of the said species.</div>]]></description>

<li>Pandas are not really pure herbivores. In fact, only 95% of their diet comprises of plant foods - they are considered as "plant-eating carnivores".</li>
<li>Pandas have very broad and flat molars, which helps them to crush bamboo shoots and other plant foods as they chomp.</li>
<li>"A panda should have at least two bamboo species where it lives, or it will starve"</li>
<li>Average weight of an adult female panda: 200 pounds</li>
<li>Pandas can climb up to 13,000 feet.</li>
<li>Pandas are very good swimmers too.</li>
<li>Pandas are a shy-type of animals.</li>
