By extracting carbon dioxide that has been excluded from the carbon cycle for several millennia,&nbsp; we are introducing more carbon in the atmosphere than the cycle can handle. Thus, we disrupt the natural balance, causing the climate to alter. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

      <item>
         <title>Litter pollution </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We have a big problem when it comes to litter pollution. Litter consist of waste products that have been thrown away, without consent at a inappropriate location. Large objects like tires, electronics and batteries for example are sometimes dumped in isolated locations, such as forests and other public land. It is a human impact on the environment, and creates a huge problem for all of us. Litter can affect quality of life in the form of ruining the oceans and forests where animals live, but also for humans. One of the biggest littered items in the world are cigarette butts, with 4.5 trillion discarded annually. It can take five to 400 years for this to break down, which creates a huge amount of garbage.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Industrialisation:</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After the inventions of several machines making production easier, society has moved forward in terms of industry. The following escalation of consumption matches the pace we've set for the production, meaning that we produce more merchandise than before. Not only does this cause pollution and an increased use of materials, but it also makes people move from villages and countrysides into the city in order to work. Leading cities to grow in order to sustain the growing level of inhabitants, and this again makes the usage of fossil fuels rise to meet these expectations. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Overconsumption:</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The definition of overconsumption is a situation in which the usage og resources has outpaced the sustainable capacity of the ecosystem. This simply means that certain humans have taken natural resources in such abundance that if the rest of the world were to follow, the earth would be drained. But overconsumption doesn't only lead to lack of resources or changes in ecosystems, but also species extinction and an increased release of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses. Not only because the trees vanish, but because the level of production rises as a reaction to all the material.</div>]]></description>

And of these, 2015 ranks the warmest yet. Since 1884 the average global temperature has raised with almost a whole degree celsius. The most concentrated deforestation occurs in the tropical rainforest.Deforested regions typically incur significant adverse soil erosion and frequently degrade into wasteland. Deforestation occurs for multiple reasons: the trees are sold as fuel or land is cleared and used as pasture for livestock and plantation. Between 2000 and 2012, 2.3 million square kilometers were cut down.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <title>Sea levels rising:</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>If, as mentioned, the average global temperature will rise with only two degrees celsius, water levels will rise to accommodate; with 6,1 meters. This means that for example Manhattan will be mostly under water, and almost all of Miami will become flooded. The sea levels have actually been rising at a rate of 0.36 centimeters each year since 1990. In fact, in 2012, the extent of the arctic ice was smaller than we have on satellite record. Thus thousands of coastal countries, such as Bangladesh, Netherlands, and several islands will find themselves under water. <br><em>"As seawater reaches farther inland, it can cause destructive erosion, flooding of wetlands, contamination of aquifers and agricultural soils, and lost habitat for fish, birds, and plants."&nbsp; - </em>National Geography</div>]]></description>

         <title>Significant changes to ecosystems:</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>One of the most certain consequences of the climate changes, are what it's going to do to the ecosystems. Because, by changing what used to be fundamental certainties in nature - such as global temperature and species diversity - the ecosystems that exist in it will alter. We see that for example bees and other pollinating species are declining, and only this slight change will cause monumental alterations to several ecosystems. As almost all components in one ecosystem is connected in one way or another, and many of these are again connected to other ecosystems. It's all one great tangle of connections. The changes in nature and the ecosystems within has a butterfly effect, and in the end, the carefully crafted recipe to the earth's climate, will fall and unravel.</div>]]></description>

         <title>More extreme weather:</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>One reason as to why climate change will cause more extreme weather is through the increase in heat, the heightening temperature will change the distribution of and thus the flow of the energy throughout the climate system. In turn this alters the circulation patterns of the atmosphere and the oceans and the distribution of water in air and the earth's surface. Eventually, this leads to the position and tracks of major storms shifting, leaving some areas more exposed to heavy rainfall or storms, other&nbsp;areas will experience droughts and prolonged heat waves. Meaning that most areas will encounter weather thy are not prepared to deal with. </div>]]></description>
