Children should be able/allowed to take vacations or  breaks out of school. As said in the article/opinion children are able to get their education out of school. Parents aren't always able to plan things when there is a break, so a vacation for less then about 2 weeks should be fine. Yes I think it's okay for students to go on vacations by missing school. First of all,If the student is a only child and the parents is going on vacation,they need to take the child with them.  Second, If the parents planed a trip that will take place on school days well,there's no turning back for that they planned and probably spent a lot of money on it. Lastly, There might be family emergencies that have to take a child out of school for a few days but at least it's important. Just because you miss a few days of school doesn't mean your gonna forget everything and be dumb all of a sudden. Kids should have vacations during school. First, Kids get a lot of education so they deserve a break sometimes. Also during school breaks lots of people rise prices of airlines and hotels. Kids family's might have jobs so they might have there break while school is in session.
