McKinley is from Canton,Ohio and was the republican representative in 1886. The Front Porch campaign is how McKinley campaigned himself. Republicans, like William McKinley, was in favor of keeping gold to back up the money supply. This meant that they stayed out of businesses. Throughout the industrial revolution in America, certain laws were passed to help regulate important needs. These needs would have been the Sherman Anti-Trust Law, and the Interstate commerce act. Sherman Anti-Trust act applied to monopolies and the Interstate commerce Act helped with regulations on railroads.
