In the artwork, there are colored bottles made of plastic blue, green, and clear/white. There is also a mermaid laying on the sand beach. what I think this art piece represents is how much pollution and garbage is in the ocean and how it's damaging ocean life. And it could also be what our ocean is going to look like in the future if we don't take care of it. I think what motivates these artists is that they wanted to spread awareness. And the message is to help out our ocean

There is a mermaid girl washed ashore, who appears to be suffering by the large amounts of plastic taking up the ocean. The theme of this topic is pollution. I think the overall message is about how badly the ocean is being taken up by man-made plastic pollution. The mermaid represents both human beings and ocean life which are both being negatively affected by this.

This art piece appears to be 3D multimedia art using different materials including yarn. I see the continents of Earth all connected together by string, representing the connections we have with the countries around us for resources, knowledge, and culture. Some strings only have one end, the other lying on the ground. This could represent broken ties and relationships with other countries, or perhaps a connection waiting to happen. I think the theme is global connections. I think the message is how we need one another to survive, and that we are separate, yet connected to one another. The broken strings tell us that these connections have been lost, but are essential to regain. I think the artist was inspired to create this based on our recent, and historical national and global conflicts between nations.

This art seems to be a painting made on canvas paper, depicting a man huddled in a cell wearing a MAGA hat. His ankles are shackled and there are election dates and the words HELP ME scrawled on the wall. I think that the theme or topic of this artwork is to show how people are shunned for their different opinions and political views. Another possibility may be that because the majority of our government is currently dominated by the Democratic Party, MAGA isn't in control and the Republican Party is vulnerable. However, with each election date, there is a possibility that MAGA will regain the majority and be "set free" should the Republican Party manage to dominate the government (as shown by the future election dates 11/08/2022 and 11/05/2024). The overall message of this art piece is that because of the imbalance of political views in the government, some citizens of the U.S. feel unrepresented and are shunned for their opinions. I believe that the artist was motivated to create this because they saw this issue and perhaps wanted to evoke some emotion of pity, regret, and/or shame from the audience.

This art seems to be a digital painting made for a magazine of some sort. It depicts an Asian woman surrounded by flowers, who is clearly upset with and defiant against this violence. I think that the theme or topic of this artwork is to show the Asian American struggle against racism, and I believe the overall message of the art piece was to promote Stop Asian Hate. I believe that the artist was motivated to create this because they understand how racism and hate against Asians need to come to an end. However, while I do believe that the intention of creating this artwork was good, I also think that the artist has an unconscious bias, as the flowers don't exactly represent any sort of struggle. When you see an image like this, your first thought would be that the flowers symbolize something. But if you delve deeper, what exactly is the meaning? Flowers represent positive connotations, which goes against the very thing the author is trying to invoke.

The artwork seems to be a drawing printed onto a tarp or plastic cover. It depicts a homeless man who is sleeping on a cot, with his backpack clutched tightly to his chest. I think that the theme or topic of this artwork is to show the growing issue of homelessness that is plaguing America. The art piece paints the person depicted as vulnerable, evoking pity, regret, and/or shame from the audience, which is probably how the artist decided to make an impact - by evoking emotions from the audience in order to ensure that the homeless will be more likely to receive helping hands. The overall message of this art piece is that homelessness in America is growing every day, and we need to do something about it. By drawing it the way they did, the author raised the likelihood of the homeless receiving more compassion and help from the more fortunate. I believe that the artist was motivated to create this piece because they see and understand the issue and know that we need to try and solve the problem of homelessness, a feat which we can only achieve by lending a hand.
