My name is Elena Lowery and I am a junior at Greer Middle College Charter High School who hopes to someday major in a music or teaching focused degree. I have participated in out of school music activities all my life. I have been a proud member of the Carolina Youth Symphony for a little over a year, and spent the previous two years actively taking part in the Greenville County Youth Orchestra. In both of these activities, I entered at quite a young age and was immediately accepted into the top performing groups of both orchestras. As well as being apart of these amazing programs and joining both county and region band every year since my eighth grade year, I have also helped out with children of all ages ever since I can remember, and even tutored some, allowing them to grow in their music abilities through my advice and encouragement.
