1. The problems in the church were that Rome was selling indulgences which meant that if you bought one you or your loved one would get out of purgatory quicker so you could get to heaven. Priests did not have to be trained. So when a Bishop died the nearest male to him would become a Bishop and if that Bishop was the Bishop of a lot of places it would mean that he would become very wealthy. Nepotism was the practice among those with power of influence relatives by giving them jobs.

1.The problems in the church were nepotism,simony,pluralism, sale of indulgences and absenteeism.Nepotism was where relations of nobles,cardinals and bishops were appointed positions in the church.This was not good because the people weren't qualified.Simony was where people bought positions in the church.Pluralism was more than one diocese.Absenteeism was where the cardinal and bishops had multiple diocese but could only live in one diocese and so they were absent from the others.Sale of indulgences was where the priests and bishops were selling indulgences and saying that if you bought one for a loved one that has passed away they would get out of purgatory quicker.

2.What Martin meant by justification by faith alone was that you did not have to do good deeds or works to get to heaven.You only ah e to have faith in God to go to heaven.

3.Fr.John Tetzel was selling indulgences because the church was corrupt and they needed money to build St.Peter's Basilica.

1- People were told that if they payed the Catholic Church money that it would shorten their family members life in purgetry. They were doing because they needed money to build St Peters Basicalla so they decided to make up this scam.

2- He meant that if you believed in God, that's all you needed to get into heaven.

3- The people believed that every sin you made gave you more time in pergetry and if you bought an indulgence that it would reduce the time you had there.

1. There were many problems before the reformation. These included the sale of indulgences(people paid the Catholic Church to lessen the time a relative spent in purgatory), nepotism(when certain priests favoured their relatives/friends in giving them jobs), pluralism(when a priest ruled more than one diocese.) , simony(the buying or selling of a church office) and absenteeism(when a priest stayed away from their dioces for a long period of time.)

2. Justification by faith alone was when Martin Luther realised that the church was corrupt. He became convinced that the church was corrupt in many ways and he lost sight of the ways of Christianity. The main point he was trying to make was that if you saw God the right way you would go straight to heaven without an indulgence

3. John Tetzel went around Europe selling indulgences to people for money. He did this to raise money to make St. Peter's Basillaca in Rome.

1-The problems in the Catholic Church were that church were telling the people that if they bought indulgences then the people who died would spend less time in purgatory and would go straight to heaven .priest were using brides and nepotilism were they would appoint family members to hiporsost in the church.

1. The Catholic Church was scamming the people.

2. The Catholic Church told them that if they payed indulgence there relatives and the people they loved would go to heaven faster.

3. The pope/priest/bishop at the time got to chose the new pope/priest/bishop and they would normally select some of there relations.

4. Martin Luther said if you believe in God you will go to heaven, you do not need a slip of paper, it's pointless.

Problems in the church included the sale of infulgences where people payed money to the Catholic Church to cut down the time their relatives spent in purgatory.But this money was going towards building Saint peters bacillica.Nepotism was when bishops and cardinals favoured their relatives when giving jobs to people.Simony was the buying and selling of church positions eg Pope Alexander IV paid cardinals to elect him as pope.Pluralism was when cardinals and bishops had more than one diocese and this also led to absenteeism which was when cardinals and bishops who had more than one diocese could only live in one and this caused them to be absent from others.

1. The catholic church was bankrupt so they told people that if they bought an indulgence they would have less time in purgatory . (A place where you had to pay for your sins) . Pluralism was when someone payed the church so they could be put to a high position in the church . Some Chardinals and bishops had more than one diocese . This was called pluralism . Absenteeism was when the cardinal / bishop had more than one diocese , so they would be absent from one so they could be at another .

1.The sale of indulgences.People would pay money to free their loved ones from purgotory.This was a big scam as the church wanted money to build Saint Peters Bacillica. Nepotism.People who had power would favourite their relatives and give them jobs instead of other people.

Absenteeism.Priests often preached in more than one place so they wouldnt always be at the one place.

Pluralism.Holding more than one office.
