We already have initial funding for the Malago/Pigeonhouse system (see map) and have lodged an application related to Colliter's Brook (see map).    Brislington Brook and the Avon New Cut are next on the list.

-an afterschool club there in partnership with Connaught 
-students from a special needs school coming on a Thursday morning to get involved in mowing and strimming. 
-Off the Record are about to begin a weekly club on a Monday evening for young people (14-25) which brings together nature connection and well-being. -There's a home education group there on a Monday afternoon and forest school on Tuesday morning.

Since March 2021 many volunteers and I have been transforming the garden from a neglected patch of overgrown grass and weeds into a beautiful and productive organic kitchen garden and wildlife refuge.

We have planted and harvested a large range of vegetables, as well as fruit trees, bushes and vines, have built a polytunnel and are currently building a potting shed, part funded by Knowle West Alliance, and using mainly reclaimed materials.

The volunteers include members of the local ‘Man Alive’ group, students and pupils from City of Bristol College, Knowle DGE and the local primary school, and ‘OT Outdoors’ (occupational therapists running a women’s gardening group and also working with college students). 

Every Wednesday lunchtime we cook lunch, using produce we've grown (OT Outdoors also do this for the women's group, which runs every alternate Tuesday - last session before summer break will be next Tuesday, 25th July, then it'll start up again September 13th). 

On September 10th there'll be a community banquet here. 

The Wednesday morning/lunchtime group will keep running throughout the summer. 

New volunteers are always welcome. As well as gaining gardening skills and knowledge, and having a sociable time, volunteers get tea, coffee, fresh vegetables to take home, and often a hot meal.
