Throughout the school year, we have MEET the TEACHER night, Report Card Night, Trick o Treat night, Fall Festival, Christmas program, Our Valentine's Dance and our End of year awards. But most of all we have our CORE values that exemplify what IDEA is about. Our students explore these core values through-out the school year. As a community we must show help our scholars show all these values even when they are not at school.

Introducing Competencies: Gallery Walk

You will walk around with your table group and write some words/thoughts that come to mind when thinking of each competency. You will 5 minutes to write down your thoughts on paper and share as a group. You will then rotate clockwise until we return back to the 1st place you started. Once we've completed all competencies you will then return to your table to share your thoughts on each competency.

Reinforcing our Competencies: Morning Meetings

Each week we will focus on one competency. Our class will meet 5-10 minutes at the beginning of class to discuss relevant topics tied to one of our selected competencies of the week. At the end of the week, I will award our scholar of the week.

As an Educator I will make sure our students are implementing their core values daily whether its in the classroom or in the community. We want to have better citizens in this world.
