Privacy is the ability of individuals and groups to determine for themselves when, how, and to what extent information about themselves is shared with others. At its extreme, privacy becomes anonymous when, for instance, a person uses it to conceal his or her true identity in order to cyber-bully someone else. Conversely, excessive privacy could also conceal the perpetrators of criminal, terrorist, or computer hacking acts from law enforcement agencies. Time goes back to August of 2019, "Facebook decides to leak over 530 million users personal information data, according to the business insider report, users full names, locations and phone numbers from 106 countries." This event leads people to raise their awareness of protecting their own privacy. This action is a negative example of a company protecting users' privacy. Imagine this leads to happen in business and employment scenarios. Today, we have apps about enrolling in employment in China, and the predicted number of people who downloaded the app "58同城“ is around 400,000,000. According to this website "useshttps://baike.baidu.com/item/58%E5%90%8C%E5%9F%8E/2425559?ivk_sa=1024630g"

Imagine 1/4 of these information was leak out to the hackers, that will be a serious issue with network security, and this can lead to personal or public's incident. The result of either in jail or large bill to charge.

Intellectual property includes ideas, discoveries, writings, works of art, software, collections, and presentations of data. Copyright, trademarks, and patents exist to protect intellectual property. However, the easy and accurate duplication methods made available through IT can undermine such protection.

In nowadays, people have no understanding of what is intellectual property, even though the original writer or creator has warned people to ask for official authorization if they want to be creative and make up their own style by adding few beeps or few rhythms. However, the warning seems like nothing in China, people still can't stop their plagiarism. Few examples when you are in Home & Leisure scenarios. When you are watching the latest movie "怒火重案“ you will realize that the opening part was been copied by the director group on 抖音 from a not really famous short video makers after the original author recognized the similarity of his post, afterward, he immediately contacted the director group however in the result of the conversation, the original author agrees to kneel down to the amount of money that the director group offered to him. Another example of intellectual property is the competition of the music group between 酷狗音乐 and QQ music to copy other songs and add few beats or a few rhythms into them and make them into a "new" song. This leads to communication problem, people are still not aware of what is intellectual property.
知识产权（盗版音乐)

Surveillance is the use of IT to monitor the actions of people. For example, monitoring may be used to track, record, and assess employees’ performance. It can be used to support claims for promotion or to ensure that employees follow the organization’s internet policy appropriately. Nowadays, surveillance can be known as a track down where people have been to throughout the day. In my old opinion, surveillance is like someone who sits in front of the computer and sees your action every day. However, there's more than just stocking your movement, in more advanced technology today, your location, your bank account+password, your SSN, your everything is been track down by them. Now, in the latest opinions, surveillance can be helpful and harmful on both sides of society. Looking from the governments perspective, the helpful site about surveillance is to track down the Covid-19 pandemic spread, nowadays we have a health code that shows your recent Covid-19 health status, this code is not just about the current health situation; meanwhile, it chases which plaza or shopping mall and even which restaurant you have been to. All of these track down of where you have been through is supported by IT. The network, the internet are for you to run an app on your phone, you have to have data. Data is also part of the network, when you turn the 4G button on, you will start making your own wifi that supports you doing anything on your smartphone, and the speed of your data matters the most. In today's common data speed is 4G LTE, it is able to download stuff between 5 and 12 Megabits per second, its upload speed is between 2 and 5 Megabits per second. The maximum of 4G LTE data download speeds in going towards 50 Megabits per second depends on the area, different company groups, and different settings of your phone plan. Coming back to our big picture, surveillance can be helpful and harmful depends on which way you use or have an opinion on it. Somehow if you are connected to unsecured wifi, surveillance can happen from that moment. The stakeholder, in this case, will be the government who had all the information from us, but meanwhile, they are doing their job correctly.

Authenticating the user is crucial in many scenarios, particularly in business and legal matters.
A simple example of authentication is a user login to a network.

Standards - everyone must follow a rule, and protocols are more for human been are technical rules and conventions that enable compatibility and therefore facilitate communication or interoperability between different IT systems and their components. They might govern the design and use of hardware, software, and information. For example, the communication protocols used on the internet, the ASCII representations for characters, or the design of the printer port on a personal computer are all governed by standards.

The most related event with this topic is called Anti-addiction system that the Chinese government has published recently. In order for you to play video games on your phone now, you must register your identification number(SSN) into the system, sometime it requires you to facial recognition to enter the game. This action prevent kids under 18 playing game for too long, this law it only allows them to play one hour a week, if they are under 18. From Friday's 8pm-9pm, this act sets a perfect standards among the teenagers, but this law is affecting some teens community only, because teenagers aren't stupid. Somehow they used their parents or grand-parents identification number to register game account to start their addiction, on the other hand the AI (artificial intelligence) are smart enough to see the level of you ranking when it comes to certain hard competition. This law allows student to pay more attention to their health and education, but this action is putting more pressure on student.

With less teen supporting the video games company, the company's hardware can get some well rest, since there's not much teen who are online gaming.

Protocols-
Kids who are under 18 can only play one hour per week on Friday 8pm-9pm, with the registration of your ID number.

Globalization refers to communication made happen beyond any kind of boundaries. It makes access to different things in the world easier, and it can help many users as well as stakeholders become more internationally-minded. Creating this village of globalization can create a blur of where cultures divide. IT does not always make life seem more dangerous, but it can create disputes and make socioeconomic and political matters worse. In Morocco in 2008, MacDonalds put a small map of Morocco on Happy Meals, but it raised geopolitical controversy .The map showed a border between the territory of Western Sahara and Morocco that has political disputes. The controversy led to protest and, eventually, an official apology from the company. In this scenario of politics and government, Internet companies definitely are crucial in defining these political boundaries in public communication. Just like what happened with Macdonald's, usually big companies like Google are forced to define boundaries, which can be affected by jurisdiction like the western sahara and Morocco. Although GPS are used by big countries to get a real geographic border, but they have always been affected by real world politics and digital politics. Globalization is most relevant in this this issue as their is a dispute over where a border ends, and sometimes IT can complicate due to restrictions from the government. Within this GPS technology, there is database, receiver, and devices. In many countries where there is political dispute on where the geographical borders end, many big companies must change the information according to what the government likes, and when others companies outside the digital world like MacDonalds use these altered information, it can raise questions and controversy that may worsen the relationship further. Although globalization has been boosted by information technology, it is important to see both sides: the negative and the positive.

I think reliability is about how well any information technology system work and how successful it is at carrying out every specific intended function. It differs from integrity as integrity is about protecting that system's data. Data can have integrity, but not reliability, and vice versa. IT failure can case many issues ranging from loss of data to even deaths or injury (like what I will be discussing in the following example). In 2017 in Detroit and Washington, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV had to recall more than 1.25 million pickup trucks worldwide because of a software error linked to reports of one crash death and two injuries. The incorrect code could temporarily disable the side air bag and deployment seat of belt pretensioners - which reduce seat belt slack during impacts, and this is fatal in car accidents or accidental pull ups. Although there is no clear proof from the fatalities, the automaker definitely had to recall it all so there can monitoring by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for both the software and vehicle recalling. But the biggest airbag problem has centered around defective devices manufactured by Japanese supplier Takata.
Although not much is known about what was the specific software error, this demonstrates how the smallest missing piece can create a huge ethical and/pr social problem just because the information technology system, in this case computers, was not able to function as intended. This raises the question how can any data be reliable if a corporation is not willing to share the supplier's information in such a fatal and critical incident.

Due to how education has been the most digitalized now due to the era we are in now, the OLPC helps ensure that children in developing countries also receive a laptop for educational purposes. There are other ethical issues that concern this solution about responsibility and possible consequences. Who would set them? Although this will lessen the digital divide and provide a long term positive economic impact, it can create new issues concerning security and digital citizenship due to lack of knowledge.

Integrity and reliability are often two confused concepts from strand 1. I think integrity is about making sure that in every ITGS service everywhere, the data is accurate and updated. It is about maintaining the completeness of the stored data. Losing integrity can also result in serious issue from leakage of data to physical injury. The biggest concern in the health department is data of patients that have lost integrity, meaning accidentally keeping outdated or recording the wrong data. The Vastaamo Psychotherapy Centre Breach is an example of data that was leaked due to publicly funded database not having high security or updated data. This resulted in a lot of other IT caused issues such as assaults and cyberbullying due to leaked issues from such a well known therapy center. Since many of the larger databases such as world health databases are publicly funded and therefore use old legacy technologies and software which is often exploited more by attackers. These outdated systems due to malfunctioning software results in more exposure. From X-rays and to detailed patient-doctor communications, the volume and variety of data on file leaves patients vulnerable to blackmail should the records fall into the wrong hands. In terms of data protection future solutions include endpoint detection and response solutions using real-time behavioural, reputational and big data analysis with machine learning to automatically place detection and repeating data in the broaader database.

Policies is rules and measures put in place to make sure information technology services are used appropriately. Although all strand 1 issues can be applied in any context, policies is one of the most applicable and seen issues across all of the strand 2 contexts. For example, in a education and training context educational IT policies are set by the administrators and head people, in a home & leisure as well as politics and government context China has many policies to block social media and streaming services such as facebook, instagram, and netflix. Due to political issues behind the scenes, all these "blocked" websites or softwares can easily be accessed through a VPN. Although in the western world VPN is usually associated with privacy and anonymity, in China it is used to "unblock" these restricted services. This is actually not how VPN works. A VPN connection establishes a secure connection between a user and the internet. Through the VPN, all the data traffic is routed through an encrypted virtual tunnel. This is where both privacy and policies come in hand. As the data traffic is routed through an encrypted virtual tunnel, it conceals the real IP address, and so if a user conceals to a random American IP address through a VPN the IP address location is made invisible and disguised as a American user, therefore the user is able to access all these blocked sites and softwares.

What issues are behind this?

There are reason for why governments have these policies in place, although political biases affect the degree of how these policies are implemented and what they are they are necessary to protect the nation. For example, on a lot of the media (which is mostly from a western pov) there is a lot of misinformation due to issues against and with china. To protect their citizens from misinformation and hate crimes, policies have been put in place.

This general policy applying to the whole nation impacts the local education IT usage policies here at ISASC. Some may argue these policies are violating basic human rights, but it is a matter of safety of the individual as well as stored data and controlling the privilege of IT resouces.

Problematic computer use is a growing social issue which is being debated worldwide. Internet Addiction Disorder (IAD) ruins lives by causing neurological complications, psychological disturbances, and social problems. Surveys in the United States and Europe have indicated alarming prevalence rates between 1.5 and 8.2% [1]. There are several reviews addressing the definition, classification, assessment, epidemiology, and co-morbidity of IAD [2-5], and some reviews [6-8] addressing the treatment of IAD. The aim of this paper is to give a preferably brief overview of research on IAD and theoretical considerations from a practical perspective based on years of daily work with clients suffering from Internet addiction. Furthermore, with this paper we intend to bring in practical experience in the debate about the eventual inclusion of IAD in the next version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).

An example of the rewarding nature of digital technology use may be captured in the following statement by a 21 year-old male in treatment for IAD:

“I feel technology has brought so much joy into my life. No other activity relaxes me or stimulates me like technology. However, when depression hits, I tend to use technology as a way of retreating and isolating.”

If people can't leave Internet, if some day there's no electric or the signal tower is down because of natural disasters, will people die? That seems very crazy and unreasonable.

Anonymity

Anonymity describes situations where the acting person's identity is unknown. Some writers have argued that namelessness, though technically correct, does not capture what is more centrally at stake in contexts of anonymity. The important idea here is that a person be non-identifiable, unreachable, or untrackable. The central idea of this explanation is to say that when it comes to creating an anonymous account, people must find no information about you, all it should showed is the date you published or the context you have posted.
looking at the picture on the top, that's a perfect example of what anonymous users is. Anonymity often happens at home and leisure scenarios, for example you wants to express your own opinion(bias) in some kind of political chat room, but you don't want this comment has negative effects on you, so, the best thing to do at this moment is to create a anonymous account, then you don't need to take care of the responsibility of your words. Furthermore, anonymous account allows people to share their pass experience on Network and the Internet. With the anonymous account we can express own madness about school, job, life or KFC is running out of chicken to sell, anything you wanna say, you can use anonymous account for it.
