Tips for Managing a Sales Team

A graduate of DePaul University, where he earned both a bachelor’s degree in accounting and master of business administration, Paul Wakolbinger serves as sales director of software firm Kyriba. As a veteran sales professional, Paul Wakolbinger excels at leading sales teams and ensuring they meet their objectives. Here are some tips for managing a sales team.

1. Avoid too many rules. While your sales environment will require certain standards in regards to product presentations and client interactions, placing too many restrictions on sales professionals prevents them from finding their voices and working to the benefit of the company. Offer freedom to sales representatives so they can use their creativity to achieve higher sales figures.

2. Coaching. Even the best sales professionals need a little guidance and managers should leverage their experience to their teams’ advantage. Hold sessions that give your team the opportunity to role play pitches, especially upon the introduction of new products. As a coach, you should provide feedback on these sessions and offer pointers for improvement, while encouraging your professionals to keep experimenting to find something that works.

Helpful Stretches Prior to a Round of Golf

An experienced application software sales director with global leader Kyriba, Paul Wakolbinger enjoys leading a healthy and active lifestyle. When he is not overseeing sales operations at Kyriba, Paul Wakolbinger enjoys spending his time skiing and playing golf. He has golfed all over the world, including courses in Scotland and Hong Kong.

There are a few basic stretches golfers may engage in prior to playing that can minimize the likelihood of injury. The wrists, fingers, and forearms are perhaps the most injury-prone parts of a golfer’s body. To effectively stretch these areas, golfers should extend one arm with the palm facing up and, using the opposite hand, gently bend down at the wrist, fingers pointing downward.

Holding this pose for about 10 seconds, individuals will begin to feel the stretch up and down the length of the forearm. At this point, golfers should rotate their arm so the palm faces downward before repeating the stretch. Golfers should utilize this stretch for both arms.

A person can warm up his or her core, meanwhile, by holding two golf clubs behind the back, resting the clubs along the shoulders, with one hand gripping the heads and the other holding the base of the clubs. With feet firmly planted, a golfer can begin rotating at the waist in alternating directions, holding the stretch on each side for about 10 seconds. To get the most out of this exercise, golfers must base their movements from the middle of their bodies, emphasizing the abdominal and gluteus muscles.

Finally, individuals can take a club in either hand and recreate their swing motion, essentially swinging both clubs in unison. Once again, these movements should be controlled by the golfer’s core. Golfers are advised to stretch before warming up on the driving range or starting a round, but it is also possible to complete these stretches several times over the course of the first few holes.

When to Visit Egypt

With more than 20 years of sales experience, Paul Wakolbinger oversees the sales process for Kyriba as its sales director. An avid traveler in his free time, Paul Wakolbinger counts Egypt among the destinations he has visited.

When visiting Egypt, many tourists have to choose between avoiding the heat and avoiding the crowds. Due to its extreme summer heat, the country experiences its peak tourist season during winter. Between the months of November and February, temperatures are cooler and more manageable during the day. The country also hosts numerous events and festivals during the holiday time. As can be imagined, prices skyrocket between these months because of the increased demand for accommodations.

Summer is the country’s off-season, and temperatures begin rising in most places in June. By July and August, summer temperatures reach their peak and many visitors can only stay cool by remaining near pools, the Nile, or other coastal areas. Visitors who feel up to braving the heat can find great deals on hotels and get some great photographs of Egypt’s many attractions without the crowds.

For most individuals, spring and fall trips to Egypt are the best in terms of both crowds and weather. Although slightly warmer than winter temperatures, spring temperatures fall short of the extremes. Similarly, fall weather also offers a respite from peak temperatures. However, visitors must remain aware of the possibility of sandstorms in April and May. In terms of prices, visitors can find numerous deals throughout the country between March and May and from September to November.
