Later in his life when this accident occurred, gaining super speed, made him want to make a difference, when he learned how to control his powers, just like his foster father. As Barry was in the way of Grodd’s plan he tried to kill him through entering his brain. As Flash was going out to fight Grodd once again to stop him from taking over Cisco made an anti-psychic crown preventing Grodd from entering Barry’s brain. Although Grodd couldn’t get into Barry’s head he was still an 8 foot gorilla with brute strength. The Reverse flash is the man who killed Barry's mom by traveling through time with speed. This speedster was Dr. Wells but really wasn't because a man named Eobard Thawne took Dr. Well's identity as he killed him. He acted as him because he wanted to train Barry to be fast enough to time travel because he wasn't able to anymore. Barry found this out and was hard for him to get ahold of Thawne because he was so fast. As he found out what happened he went back to the past with his speed to try to save his mom but couldn't because it could be very fatal to his life and space and time. He was angered by this and attempted to kill Thawne as he was attempting to enter a portal to go back to his time that was created by Barry going back in time. As Barry caught him before leaving they started fighting and Thawne was at the point where he was going to kill Barry because he was getting beat so bad. When he was about to kill Barry he suddenly started disintegrating out of existence because Iris’s boyfriend, Eddie is Thawne’s great grandfather stabbed himself making it impossible for Thawne to be alive because he is from the future. These crazy chain of events that occurred showed Barry that it’s not easy to be a hero and live two separate lives. Just as flash seemed to be perfect to everybody around the city him fighting Thawne.
