         <description><![CDATA[<div>vitryal reality offers retailers opportunity to tranform how consumers shop.<br><br>virtual reality is used in the field of marketing to create a differential advantage from competitors in terms of a customers shopping experience. it allows customers to experience a shopping environment far beyond what is capable through traditional in-store methods.&nbsp;<br><br>ikea: transport shoppers into virtual kitchens where they can inspect individual elements such as drawers, floors, worktops etc.&nbsp;<br>Audi: take customer around the car to help create a vision of how the physical will look. Also allows for virtual driving test to help customer experience what the car is like to drive.<br><br>benefits: can eliminate customer pain points and create a differentiated, personalized customer experience.&nbsp;<br>customers can have an in-store experience without the interuptions of physically being in the store<br>Negatives: Virtual Reality is expensive at the moment so only well established retailers can afford it, The technology is lagging as virtual reality is still in its early stages, graphics are low resolution which can ruin immersion for the customer. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>The definition of social media is: "websites that allow users to create and share content, or to participate in social networking"<br><br>Social media is utilised by Marketers in both collecting data, (whether that be on consumers or products / trends etc.) or in promoting themselves, their product and developing a coherent brand image for their company. <br><br>Brands such as Topshop, Paddy Power and Tesco all have active social media sites, allowing them to promote new products, interact with consumers and gain key information relative to social buzz to help them influence the dynamic and relativity of their business and core brand image. <br><strong>Pro's:</strong>&nbsp;<br>Cheap&nbsp;</div><div><br>Instant access to vast groups of people across all sectors&nbsp;<br><br>Gives a more informal, personified company /brand image in many cases<br><br><strong>Con's: <br></strong>Very sensitive to transparency, i.e. if a company were to make a statement that was perhaps offensive, they open themselves up to backlash and widespread abuse<br><br>Difficult to keep the business formal and professional while maintaining frequent posts</div>]]></description>
