Religion is a worship for a god or maybe even a group of gods. People show their worship and respect for them through ceremonies, dances, and even sacrifices. Most of the time people look up to their good when in search of comfort during a life crisis and sometimes even advice on big decisions.

People in the Inca empire were able to worship their own gods but the Sun God was one of the most important to the Inca religion. Machu Picchu priest would form a ceremony to tie down the sun from disappearing forever every winter as the sun set earlier each day. The Incas also believed that the sun god and their kings were related causing them to believe that their kings never really died. People would bring food and gifts to the mummies of their kings.
(pg. 429-430 text book)

The Inca Empire sacrificed both living and non-living things such as guinea pigs, Llamas, coca leaves, and other foods to show worship to their gods. Many sacrifices were daily and many on the ritual of the suns appearance. 100 pure white llamas where taken to the Great Square on the first day of every lunar month where chunks of their flesh were thrown into fire and their bones were turned into powder for other religious events. Sometimes the sacrifices are as extreme as immolating 200 children and sometimes even a woman from the sun temple would be taken out for scarification. The Inca empire would sacrifice to show there god that they are it's children.
https://www.britannica.com/topic/Inca-religion#ref345014

In Cuzco, there was a special chamber space called mallquis for the mummies of the emperors and their wives. Royal mummies were given deluxe treatment such as embalming and skin tanning. The weapons and artistic treasures of the mummified emperors surrounded them because Incas believed even though the owner of property is dead, it remains theirs. The mummies were finely dressed wearing gold jewelry and exotic feathers. When the Spanish arrived, the mummies were moved around often to avoid being captured and destroyed by the Europeans. https://www.worldhistory.org/article/699/inca-mummies/
