Deforestation can cause erosion because when the soil is exposed weathering can wash it away. Erosion can also happen because when the trees are gone there is nothing to strong enough to hold onto the soil.

During deforestation many animals lose their homes, this is because when trees and other plants are removed an animals food, shelter, and breeding habitat are being taken from them.
