Reflection and Project Completion

MUHAMMAD AMEER SAFWAN BIN SHAMSUL

A191742

25/8 – 28/8/2025

1. Were the objectives of the project fulfilled?
Yes, the objectives of the project were fully achieved. In fact, the outcomes exceeded my expectations and went beyond the initial objectives.

2. What did you enjoy or like the most about the project?
What I enjoyed most was the overall experience—the environment, the workplace, and especially the relationships I built there. It was truly an unbelievable experience that I will always cherish as one of my core memories.

3. What have you found challenging about this project?
Honestly, I did not find the project itself difficult. It felt smooth and enjoyable, almost like a walk in the park. The only challenges I faced were waking up early in the morning and having my workout schedule disrupted, which I found a bit frustrating.

4. What has really worked?
The most impactful part was the personal and professional growth I experienced. This project helped me realize the importance of taking tasks seriously—not just as an intern, but also as a student and as an individual. I can clearly see a positive difference in myself before and after this project.

5. What can be improved in this project?
I believe the project was well-structured and met its objectives. While there is always room for improvement, I personally feel satisfied with how it turned out and would not change anything. For me, it was already a perfect experience

1. Were the objectives of the project fulfilled?

Yes, the objectives were successfully achieved. We managed to carry out the planned procedures and obtained positive outcomes, which showed that the project goals were met.

2. What have you enjoyed or liked the most about the project?

The part I enjoyed most was learning how to handle different laboratory instruments properly. Being able to use equipment like pipettes, incubators, and centrifuges confidently gave me a sense of accomplishment, and it felt rewarding to gain new technical skills that are very relevant for future.

3. What have you found challenging about this project? (any part of the project you found hard to do)

Repeating the same tasks over and over again, especially when results did not come out as expected and when working on a new sample . Another difficulty was maintaining precision during each step, since even small mistakes could affect the outcome. This taught me to stay focused and disciplined throughout the process.

4. What has really worked? (any part in the project that you thought worked well)

The procedures worked well overall, but the most satisfying part was seeing positive results, particularly the clear zone of inhibition on the double-layer agar. This confirmed that our methods were effective and that the project was progressing in the right direction.

5. What can be improved in this project?

In this study, we only carried out UV induction for prophage isolation. However, there is also another method using chemical induction, which we did not explore. Including both methods in future projects could provide different perspectives and possibly yield better or more varied results.

What have you enjoyed or liked the most about the project?

The things that I enjoyed the most during the project is how fun it is to learn new things every week, because every week I will be curious and excited waiting for the next session. Every session is new to me and plus my teacher Joey likes to give extra knowledge out of the topics that I learnt and he allows me to ask a lot of question because he likes when people want to know more about sign language.

3. What have you found challenging about this project? (any part of the project you found hard to do)

The most challenging part is to remember how to apply this knowledge the correct way and also to figure out ways of practice I can do especially when you do not have deaf communities around near you.

4. What has really worked? (any part in the project that you thought worked well)

The things that worked is I finally figured out the effective way of practice sign language for me which is I search videos of deaf communities communicating on any social platform and I will pretend that I was having a conversation with them.

5. What can be improved in this project?

The things that can be improved for this project is to figure out more ways to improve anyone’s sign language skills rather than just attending classes because some of us do not have the access to connect with the deaf communities and from what I found there are not soo many deaf communities on the social platform that most of the people use such as Tiktok or Instagram.

1. Were the objectives of the project fulfilled?
Yes, the objectives were fulfilled. I observed waste management in different settings such as factories, wastewater systems, and even the zoo. I learned how waste is collected and disposed of properly to prevent environmental and health problems.

2. What have you enjoyed or liked the most about the project?
I enjoyed the visit to the zoo the most. It was very interesting to see how animal waste and leftover food were managed carefully. This made me reflect on how in hospitals, biomedical waste must also be separated and disposed of properly to prevent infections.

3. What have you found challenging about this project?
The most challenging part for me was understanding the technical processes and machines, especially in wastewater treatment and the cooling tower. The zoo visit also reminded me how much effort is needed to maintain hygiene in public places.

4. What has really worked?
What worked very well was the company’s discipline and teamwork in managing waste whether in factories or at the zoo. This reminded me of how healthcare teams must also work together to keep hospitals safe and clean.

5. What can be improved in this project?
This project could be improved by giving more clear explanations in simple language at the beginning. It would also be useful to have more discussions on how the lessons can be connected to medical practice.

From factories to wastewater plants and finally the zoo, I realised that waste management and medicine share many similarities. Both require good planning, strong teamwork, and strict rules to avoid harm. Observing waste collection at the zoo reminded me of infection control in hospitals. Whether it is animal waste or biomedical waste, proper disposal is crucial to protect health and the environment. This project made me more open-minded and aware that healthcare is always connected to many other fields.
