Another similarity both of them have is that they can both fly. Hermes can fly and he is fast and let anyone know if there is anything going on, Zazu basically does the same thing in Lion King he flies over the savanna to see if anything is thrown off balance. In conclusion, Hermes and Zazu are similar in many ways.

Furthermore, they both carried tridents around like their possession.
